Woodyvr6 0 Posted March 16, 2006 Report Share Posted March 16, 2006 For a 97 VR6?I changed it last weekend and let the chap in the motor factors tell me which oil I needed...big mistake. It as though the gearbox has no oil on it for the first 1/2 mile.So going to do it again as it'll only take about 10 minutes now I know what I'm doing, just need to make sure I get the right stuff in there. magentaham 0 Posted March 17, 2006 Report Share Posted March 17, 2006 VW G50 synthetic oil, SAE 75W90 (very expensive) I personally use Mobil 1 syn 75W90. Just about any good syn. is ok. You probably got some petrolum base gear oil... Link to post Share on other sites
