I totally agree with Madge on this one, just thought it would be interesting to hear some more of your views on this matter...

Drives me nuts ~:( when another dubber (not a real dubber if you ask me) hassles you just to try and prove a point!!

My arm aches from carrying my soap box so I open this to the rest of you..

I find it's usually MK2s and chipped MK4 diesels and GTIs that try and push me along the road and also MK3 VR6s...but it's a corrado thing (for me at least). The Golf VR boys seem to want to try and show that their 2.8s can keep up with a 2.9 Rado, but we all know the 2.9 isn't all that, especially against a Highline :-)

I wasn't aware of any unwritten etiquette? What's this then? Golf drivers never show any community spirit to me, in fact, Rado drivers don't either.

I always flash MK2 drivers as I've had loads of them but they look at me blankly, miserable gets!

I'll never forget the time when I had my MK2 16v Turbo and I whooped a MK3 VR6, which so obviously had a charger on it (the whine was loud and obvious!), we pulled up to some lights after a thrape and he shouted out of his window "that's feckin quick for a 16v!" LOL.... you can't beat the stealth approach ;-) I bet he went home and looked on the net for a smaller pulley after that, but he had no chance in hell with my MK2's power to weight ratio :-)

Anyway, Subarus are my main targets these days as they really do annoy me with their stupid 5" exhausts and baseball cap drivers.....1 nil to the charged VR every time.

Don't mind the VR boys spicing things up a bit, its the GTi's and TDi's ~:( that always seem to sit on my arse or try for the undertake just to say they got in front of a VR!!! As If!! It's great when they realise they ain't a match once the old right foot falls to the floor.

My car has no engine badging on it at all, best way.

Just has 'Corrado' on the back with a black 'Stealth Racing' sticker underneath ;-)

If on the motorway I know I'm going to get beaten, I use my classic "I'm not trying" ploy....as they struggle to get past I just sit there looking nonchalant with my arm resting on the door picking my nose and looking at the passenger seat or something, or taking a swig from the redbull can :-) For all they know, they could have struggled getting past a 16V rado!

TDI boys make me laugh though.... they get a nice slug of torque over a tiny little rev range and think they can beat anything....WRONG!

Nobody ever tries to race me - must be the area I live in or they just know I'll kick their arses!

Lucky you live where you do...Teeside is full of little P***ks in modded saxo's and corsa's who spend all night racing there 1.1s with half a ton of body kit on. My VR has the side sill badges and grill badge only. Removed rear so when they come up behind they have no idea whats lurking under the bonnet. Like Kevhaywire, I play the nonchalent game, 8) let them struggle to get alongside thinking they are winning, then twitch the throttle, and See Ya Later. :P

:D:D:D !lol

That's the one :P

Maybe the etiquette is more prevelent amoungst the MkI's and II's? I always had nothing but respect from other Vdubbers driving the MkII, but the VR's a different matter :P Get tailgated all the time, Polo drivers have got serious issues, and I have to say it... young lads, ego, (possibly mummys golf), and a woman in a vr6 is no happy combination :P They will learn though ;)

Very true. They jump off the line like a scalded cat, but soon lose ground when doing all the gearchanges required to keep 'em in that narrow power band...

you do get a few tools around really but that's life, true dubbers are usually above the boy racer mentality.

The only time i bite is if someone needs putting in their place, like when i was following a nova a little while ago, the young lads in it were yelling abuse at people on the pavement and generally being tools, so when the road split into 2 lanes cain it past them like they are stood still :)

That's the point I was trying to make. There's an unwritten law that says don't twat about with other VDubbers, it's RESPECT Man
