Earwig 89
Can anyone tell me the easiest way to delock the doors on my Highline please? It is in the bodyshop now and I am hoping whatever I can do will be a small job to do as I need it back this friday to go to the pod in.On my Highline are my handles painted to the car?On my GTI they are black plastic but my highline may be different, I just can't remember !If they are then surley the lock can just be filled and painted? But I am guessing it is not gonna be that easy ....... :-)Mark. binliner 0
its easy enough... get a pair of rear door handles from a mk3 or mk5 (I think) polo and put them on the front!none of the mk3 handles came painted btw
stockers 1
i think if you put polo handles on you need to bend a rod?
binliner 0
I didnt on mine but they took ages to get them to catch when fitting them!
Earwig 89
Ok sounds good.Think I will wait then if it's going to be fiddly to do. I reckon they are going to struggle to get my car ready for the weekend as it is. :-(They never seem to be there. I mean it's 12.30 now on monday and the guy's place is STILL locked up :-( Is like that most days....... :-(Think I chose the wrong place for my work to be done.Mark
Seademon 0
My Polo handles went straight on no probs - I think you only have to fiddle with the rods on cars N Reg & before. Not had 1 problem with opening my doors since fitting :0)
gav_113 0
i fitted polo handles recently and one did get stuck!!!mines a k plate, i bent rod behind the handle slightly and it was ok then....
MrBen 0
The easiest way to delock is using Golf mk3 rear door handles - no messing about required!Polo handles can still require some fettling of the lock rod on late cars.
Earwig 89
Are Mk3 Rear handles expensive to get? VW only?If they are nice and easy I could pick them up this week and have them sprayed and fitted before the show !
gav_113 0
just go to a scrappy, u would get a pair for a tenner.they are held in by one screw and should just slide out,u could have them painted and fitted in a hr.(with some rocket in the clear coat)!!!
