oops shouldnt of done that!!

Recommended Posts

hey up people rite no laughing please :( i was fitting some nice new speakers in the rear footwells in the back of my 3 door vr6 the other week an it was a bit dark so i decided to loop a bulb through the handle in the roof. fitted the speakers an then started packing up my tools an realised that the bulb had worked its way up an burnt a nice hole in my roof liner!!! :@ so is it easy to take off the roof liner so i can either replace it or cover it with something? (speakers sound really good though) oh an ive bought a proper inspection lamp since!

ps. any ideas on coverings for the roof would help. and would you also do the columns?

Oops. Sounds like something that would happen to me HEhehe.

Should not be to difficult to fix. Although I cannot think of anything to cover it with if you look in the back of Golf+ they usually have an advert from people who specialise in interior carpets and roof linings. Try giving them a ring.

Mark.

cheers mate so whats the best way of gettin the clips off all the bits without breaking any of them? is there a special tool that i should be using or will a flat blade screwdriver work? do they come in different colours or is there only the one?

You have to remove the covers on the center pillars, where the seat belts are attached. also the sunroof seal, Followed by the trim around the top of the roof( i just puleed my gentley until it let go) then it just comes out. but be very carefull as it is real flimsy, a gust of wind would snap it in Half. Then just a case of sliding new one in and replacing all the clips etc. i think i paid about £10.00 from a scrappy for mine a while back. not sure on different colours though, could only find the grey type. hope this helps
