i am thinking of supercharging my vr but my car has high mileage[although the engine is sweet as a nut with no rattles or tappity noises]but realise stressing the high milage engine with a supercharger could be the death of it ,what would i have to do to the engine if anything ,would appreciate advise from supercharged owners

If you just have a charger i.e. ZR2 or Vortech S2 then you'll be alright, personally 250bhp is all you need anymore power is hard to get down on the tarmac.

If you plan to do more then except further work may be needed to the engine but not in all cases, anything over 300bhp and the bottom end needs to be built to take it for reliability.

P.S. Don't forget to up-rate the brakes, something most people don't bother with....

250 to the tarmac is not a problem with a quaife and sensible throttle openings. I've got 290 and never struggle to get it down. If you're a buffoon of the lights, then yes, but under normal driving I have no issues with traction. Besides, spin is also a sign of a worn/poorly setup chassis.

I added my charger to the engine at 120K and I've done 12K since, no issues. It's been dyno run at least 20 times and the engine took it no problem.

You have to remember that chargers are linear, they don't throw sudden slugs of torque at the drive train like turbos do, so the power you get is 100% related to throttle opening and if you're not redlining it all the time to extract maximum charger boost, then the engine is not suffering from any undue stresses.
