gtibrad84 0
hi, i am doing a vr6 coversion into my mk2 but it won't start, was running in donor car(92/93 vr6).i paid tsr to convert engine loom as it has gone in a 1988 mk2 and i wired it up as per their instructions.i got power to ecu(constant and ign. on live) and is now earthed direct to battery, but i still haven't got power to puel pump relay. Are ecu's known to go down? any idea's would be useful. petervr6 0
is the engine turning over? have youb checked the earth in the engine bay?
kilokilla 0
Hi mate have you tried running a fused live to fuel pump to see if car then runs because your problem could be down to fuel pump relay if your anywhere near stoke on trent im pretty sure i could get it running as i have done quite a few vr conversions now and i am very familiar with the wiring on them. gtibrad84 0
the engine turns over ok, i put constant live to pump and it wouldn't fire and have changed the relay(53) with no joy.I live in fareham on the south coast.
kilokilla 0
have you checked you have fuel lines the right way round on engine and that there is a spark to spark plugs because if you have spark it should fire if pump is lived up generally when im doing vr6 conversions i fit the whole loom on pre 90 vehicles so that they have correct loom and fusebox i find that easier .its worth trying to swap fuel lines over on engine because ive found a couple of times that that is all thats stopping a converted vr from running.
