Hi all. I was having a little poke around in the engine bay before, as you do after washing polishing for hours etc etc. Id removed the air box to clean around it but after putting it all back together i noticed a strange whistling/sucking noise coming from a part just to the left of the main engine block. It looks like something snapped or sheared through leaving a pipe open. Very worrying. Looks like a fuel pump but smaller, about 8cm long attached into a hose by jubilee clips either end. Im not sure what the part is but i managed to clean it up enough to get the number. 021 129 101 A if anyones got the ETKA handy could they help me out? also comming out of the head pipe where it attaches looks like to be some sort of copper wire in the hole. any ideas as if it should be there. Cheers !sad

The part I think yuor'e on about comes from the cylinder head and connects to the air intake just before the throttle body, correct me if I'm wrong. I bodged mine for a while, until I run out of plastic to connect to the rocker cover and had to buy another. I cannot remember seeing a copper wire anywhere. Where exactly has yours broke?

When you say carb housing, do you mean the throttle body? When I cleaned my throttle body out, there was a small amount of oil(small enough to clean with some kitchen roll) on the plastic part of the air intake, but seeing as the breather from the rocker cover goes into the air intake' think thats always gonna happen, depends on how much oil were talking about.

Is that the ford part no. ? I gave it to my local ford garage who said it wasnt a ford part no. and therefore would need to know wot make/model of ford it comes from.
