Hi,ive had my 1996 golf vr6 for a few months now and its a cracking car. I had always wanted one since my uncle had one when they first came out so, I sold my celica gt4 wrc(255bhp)to get one. The golf is extremely quick, not jst as quick as two previous cars the celica and mr2 turbo and thats where the problem lies. I want more power... lst nite raced my mate in his leon cupra r and was about a car behind him which was good but i want to beat him so want your advice on best mods to do.

My car has a miltek exhaust system and sports cat and a ram air induction kit and supposedly an AMD remap but not so sure what should i do next... ?!

Heres the options ive thought :!

1. 6 BRANCH manifold

2. Decat the car completely

3.Different throttle body from corrado

4. Supercharge but would take ages to save for but is it worth it.

Any feedback much appreciated !dodge

Doubt a rado throttle body will go on mate, as yours is 96! Unless you know it's defo OBD1!

6-1 and decats are good mods, but if yer thinkin of a charger, it's about £250+ towards it! 2k on a group buy, a new one has recently been started!

What sorta bhp would a charger bring the car up to? 0-60 time?

Better to look at quarter mile or 0-100mph times. Much better than 0-60...especially for front wheel drive cars. bhp for a stage 1 is around 250-260bhp. Stage 2 (which includes improved fuelling/injectors etc) takes it to around 280bhp or over.
