smunro 0
Hi Guys,This is my first post on the form been visiting on and off for a while I remember when first got my VR6 I was well annoyed when I could not find a decent forum... and now there is one!Anyhow to cut to the chase my suspension has had it big time sitting in the back seat is rather like trying to ride one of those electronic bulls so I am going to replace the lot and im leaning towards a g-max kit. What I really need to know is will it rub I have 17" on there with the tyre dimensions of 205/40/17 so will I get away with a 40mm drop? I want to uprate the car but I'm not into the big daddy modding of rolling arches etc plus I need to order the kit today ready to fit at the weekend. Thanks in advance

Slim 0
Odd, I had 17" wheels with 205/40/17 tyres and they were slammed right down on coilovers and I had no rubbing issues. You should be fine I reckon, assuming the offset of your wheels are round about ET35.
MrBen 0
You can't just rely on the diameter and tyre size to say if they will rub. The big question is rim width, and offset, as this will make far more difference. Bear in mind, a 7x17 with 205/40/17 has a very similar overall size to the stock rims with 205/50/15, so as long as offset is similar you are fine.
