VR6Pete 1,455
I'm thinking of getting my teeth whitened. Has anyone had this treatment before, Did you have it done at the dentist or did you DIY?I'm interested in knowing how good the results are for the above, and what costs were involved.Thanks.Pete

nd 0
I'm gonna get mine done Pete soon,it's going to cost me 350 the dentist takes an impression of your teeth gives you the whitening paste depending on how yellow ya teeth are he decides what strength and how long to wear it for, that's one you do at home yourself.if you have it done in the dentist i think you can pay up to 500,then once youve reached your desired colour you can get a toothpaste of them to keep it up as long as you cut down on tea coffee and red wine, you can also go back for top ups every now and then.hope this helps anyway

Zonda_ 0
If your teeth are capped they will not change colour so fo a 'proper' job you will have to have new caps put on as they are colour matched.
Bezman 0
Why not have them colour coded to match your car. Dragon green I believe. :-p

VR40 0
My ex is a dentistry nurse, she is al3ways having hers done, i'm sure it's an addiction, she uses a gel/cream thats applied at night and takes it off in the morning. Trust me, it hurts! It makes your teeth really sensitive for a few days, but if you want whiter teeth it's worth it, no pain, no gain and all that! ;o) You might need it done a few times to really see the effects! Good luck mate! )
VR6Lee 1
PeteI found putting on lip stick helps ya teeth look whiter (k) Clinique lippy cost £12, comes in nice chrome twist cylinder to (h) Give it a go first
MrsC 0
Or ... just buy the old faithful 'Pearl Drops' at least they give you naturally whiter teeth :-d
Buzzark 0
I got kits for myself and my wife from www.britewhite.com (in the US)a few years ago. At the time you couldn't get professional kits in the UK at reasonable prices but now you can.I've been very pleased with mine, I just use it occasionally so mine don't glow in the dark. You can go all the way white if you want but I just wanted a natural white look.Leaves your teeth a bit sensitive (varies on person) and it's worse depending on the strength of bleach you go for. 17% is a milder dentist strengh, 22% is the stronger one.You get a kit with 2 mouth trays and 3 sets of 2 part putty. Knead putty place in tray - bite.Send trays to suppliers lab, they send back fitted mouthpieces and you put some gel into mouthpiece and wear it through the night.NB the gels all taste pretty bad even the "minty" ones and you may end up dribbling like a baby, but everyone I know who's had it done has been pleased. There no difference between a dentist supplied kit and a direct lab kit except for maybe £250!Hope that helps.PS My parents recently bought kits just like mine in the UK, but I can't remember where from - price was about the same £65 ish. Kit was pretty much indentical with a different brand 17% gel.
