Main bearing shells... HELP!

Hi Guys,

Im just putting the cranks back in after a rebore, and the bearing shells for the block are correct, but i've got the wrong ones for the caps. Anyone got any idea what P/N i need?? I cant find the number anywhere.

Problem solved!

VW don't supply the VR6 P/N anymore... Its no longer available. The new P/N is the same as the R32. Th VR6 in ETKA listed that the P/N was a pair, and to order 7, whereas the R32 is listed as each upper and lower. What a pain in the arse!

For anyone in the same situation the new part numbers are as follows:

Upper: 071 105 561 A

Lower: 071 105 591 C

It appears that all VR6 engine whether it be 12, 24v or 3.2, all use the same main bearings

I had a similar problem trying to get parts from vw, the two part numbers listed there is what i've now been given. However, im a bit concearned about the thrust washers. When i took the engine apart there were 4 thrust washers and i've only been given two new ones and they are different, I'll try get some pics,

i had this prob about a month ago, top bearings stay the same, bottoms have changed, they have the groove down the middle like the top shells, will be better for oil flow/lubbing...
