Aidan 0 Posted May 9, 2006 Report Share Posted May 9, 2006 Hi, first time on here but no matches for the problems the car has (sorry its long winded);After the engine is switched off, I can hear a gurgling noise from the top coolant hose at the back of the engine, the one that goes into the bulkhead and has a tee on it that goes over to the throttle body area.There is a whirring noise from the side of the engine also when switched off, this is the area where the large round plug is above the gearbox.The water in the expansion tank is bubbling when the cap is off (and the cap has a big split in it...)Water temp stays dead centre, and the oil temp stays at 100oC according to mfa. The system is supposed to be pressurised otherwise the water can simmer or even boil!The whirring noise is the Aux water pump on overrun, it's quite normal. It helps to cool the head once the main pump stops.TG Link to post Share on other sites
