got the car onto vag com as the car missfires/loses power and doesnt run on all cylinders when warm.

its an obd2 lump in a mk2.

here are the codes and explainations from the report, im not sure how to resolve all the problems:

00668 - supply voltage to terminal 30 signal too low intermitant

01247 - shareware version to decode all dtc's

00553 - shareware version to decode all dtc's

00281 - vehicle speed sensor g68 no signal

how do i go about sorting the above problems out?

cheers

00668, mine has that, vince says ignore it, so i do

01247, Pay for the software

00553, As above

00281, Mr bens had that and still put down a healthy 201 bhp.

I think the middle 2 are going to be relevent to you. I've checked my copy but i cant work out how to look the codes up.....

my problems got to be something to do with these. maybe the codes need to be erased in order for it to run properly....

plugs, leads, coilpack have all been changed, hall sensor been cleaned, one thing i am worried about tho is my maf. its a new one from gsf but i think there recon'd. when i fitted it, it didnt run as good as one i tried off a mates car.

the g68 is the sensor on the back of the gearbox whuch tell the speedo an ecu how fast you are going

there may be a wire off or a knackered sensor

check for voltage on either the blue/yellow

or the blue /white wire

terminal 30 may be the ecu live feed at the ecu plug

I have some probable causes for some of these codes

00668 - Engine control Module (ECM) supply voltage low.

Battery, wiring, engine control relay.

01247 - Evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve.

Wiring, fuse, canister purge valve.

00553 - Mass air flow (MAF) sensor.

Intake leak, wiring, MAF sensor.

00281 - Vehicle speed sensor (VSS).

Wiring, speedometer, VSS

These are only probable causes! Most of them would cause you some sort of running problems. Hope they are of some help.

did u get these from autodata?

ECU terminal 30 is indeed the live feed and every time you disconnect the battery or pull the ECU plug, it will store it as a fault code. Nothing to worry about.

My OBD2 ran like cack when it was running too lean, coughing, missing, etc etc So I'd suspect the MAF as the primary cause.

iv jus bought a new maf and fitted it. same thing. theres jus no power at high revs and the power delivery is intermittant. comes in and out. could it be a weak fuel pump? can this cause this as my 8v one is on its last legs , constant loud whining. and it doesnt juder like a proper missfire, just loses power smoothly if you kno what i mean. everything else has been changed, plugs, leads, maf, coilpack, cleaned hall sensor......

what else can it be. the only codes that came up on vag com where the above ones....

fuel filters brand new, its an mk2 so only an 8v pump but they run at higher pressure than the vr6 i believe. its just that the fuel pump nackered i think, as it doesnt loose power as bad when its a full tank, and also the pump doesnt whine as much.
