squirreleater 0
You wait till you have to use a dial up connection for something once your used to BB.!Don't think i'd bother with dial up at all if i didn't have broadband.
Buzzark 0
That's not even as good as it gets either!2Mb gives a maximum download speed of approx 240kb/s!No doubt wherever you were downloading from was the limit in this case.
VR6Pete 1,455
ADSL Max is currently being rolled out across BT's exchanges, giving upto 8MB connection rates, in relality, you will see about about 4MB of that taking into account the condition of your connection and distance from the exchange.I'd advise that you ensure you have a proper firewall and upto date AV/Anti-Spyware programs installed, otherwise you will be a sitting duck... stuey 0
Hi, i work for above company (BT) and i have just got my upgrade and wireless adsl router. I am getting about 5.5Meg now, you will have to live very close to the exchange to get near 8 Meg, like next door! Dont forget to protect your wireless access if you are using it to stop anyone nicking your service or worse stuff

Buzzark 0
For wireless best make that WEP2 or WEP Plus or 128bit WEP (or a more secure protocol alltogether) if you have the option (which you should on new equipment) as standard WEP is considered unsecure since it was cracked a couple of years ago.If you're not on wireless but are using a standard USB type "modem" thing they send you, strongly consider using it to prop a door open with and get yourself a nice hardware firewall/router, they are very cheap these days.
