juliet 0
Hello bought Golf VR6 a few months ago, Has been Chipped with a bolt on chip pack wired directly into the harness, proper job done by a repituable company. The car at first fair went especialy around the 4500 rpm mark were it seemed to take off. After a few weeks it started spluttering throught the rev range. It also every now and again did and still does a 5 to ten second kangaroo down the road where there is a total loss of power momenteraly but returns to normal after the 5 to ten seconds. the major loss of power is where it used to take off at 4500 rpm it now holds back, very hesitant, occassionaly it gets through the hesitent stage and all power comes back. I have had new plugs, leads. I found a second hand coil in my friends garage off a golf. Are VR6 coils uprated or are they the same as normal golfs, This seemed to fix the splutering for a while. Any info would be most appreciated, Iv driven a m2 GTI for 6 years but problems on them are easy to solve compared to this machine.

VR6Pete 1,455
If it's a bolt on chip, take it out and see how you get on.... doesnt cost you a penny either
jb9999 0
Sounds like what mine was like. Try disconnecting the MAF and see what it runs like? Mine run great apart from a flat spot about the 2500rpm mark. Put a new MAF in and the power is back and no flat spot.Or if you have a frind with a vr as well, try theirs on your car to see if there is any difference.
