Edmonzo 0
1st time post so be gentle!!!I've just bought my Golf VR6 and I'm wanting to replace the front door speakers. I've had a look at the doorcard to remove it but cannot find any screws to remove and didn't want to just start pulling at it.Can someone tell me the best way of removing the door card without damaging it to replace my speakers? Thanks
kilokilla 0
there is plastic cover on door handle that will flik off with screwdriver then behind that there are 2 phillips screws undo these and then just pull door card off.but to change speaker you do not need to remove door card speaker cover will just pop of with a small flat head screwdriver then there should be 3 or 4 screws to remove and replace speaker . andy c 0
To really improve the sound quality, and the only way to do expensive speakers justice, is to get the door card off, and sound deaden everything, try to seal off the pocket the speaker sits in... I'm crap, but managed it on a lazy Sunday in the sun.
Guest Olly_K
hang on a tick, if your only wanting to replace the speakers, then you dont need to pull the door card off. just pop the speaker grill off and you'll have access to the 4 screws holding it in the pod. Bear in mind, if you do fit after market speakers, you'll need to snap the little lugs off to make em fit
