two days ago i put new distributor cap + rotor arm

in my OBD1 VR6 AAA

after that , i have o litle loss of power and when i step on it

the oil temp goes 110-112 (once went 114! *-) the engine gets realy hot!

i can feel the heat at my gear knob :o

does enyone know what is it? ?

its o golf 2 conversion and i have the 16v fuel pump (from my KR 1800 16v)

is it runnig lean? ? ? because of the 16v fuel pump? ? ?

i have just finished my conversion 5 weeks ago so i am new with vr's :$

thanks :)

The oil temp will get hot sepecially in a country like Greece where the ambient temperature is high. Vr6s do run hot and if this worries you, fit an extra oil cooler. Other good mods to reduce temperature are a low temperature fan switch, low temp thermostat and adding watter wetter in the coolant system.

I'm pretty sure the kr pump should provide enough pressure (probably too much pressure) If you want to change the pump you can use one off a mark 2 golf gti 8v or fit the complete tank and pump assembly from a mark 3 golf vr6.

When you say "speed sensor" do you mean the sensor which operates the speedometer in the car or do you mean the engine crank sensor?

the VAG-COM shows that the "speed sensor" does not

work at all......... i will fix it at Monday

i hope that this cause the problem

by the way the fueling is ok!

if its the egine speed sensor mate did u do the test with the engine running? as if u didnt then there wont be any feed coming from the speed sensor hence why it has brought it up as a fault, did this on my vr the other week with the engine off, came up with two faults, one was engine speed sensor no signal(engine was off, hence why) and the other one was maximum engine revs exeeded lol, gotta love re-maps :)

problem solved! here is the pic of the "speed sensor"

http://img50.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1317xm.jpg

and the part number is 191-919-149 D

http://img50.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1301oq.jpg

the sensor is located on the top of the gearbox (sorry i don't have

pic) and its not for the speedometer

the car now is working fine! no power loss no high temps enymore :)

thank you all for your replies! :)
