just2zang 0
Basically, my car will not let me rev to 7k, and seems to be underpowered. It revs until about 6400 rpm then the engine stops me from reving anymore, almost like the ecu is stopping it, but its not a rev limiter. Was fine on the first day of getting the chip.. Could it be the lamda sensor, or is it cos i switched fuel from optimax to ultima. Is it a knock sensor cutting in.. Any ideas boyz, vag.com said i had a dodgy lamda when the piping and chip was wrong. Thought it was sorted but... a day later and the car feels restrictive. I hope i'm not running lean.. ~
mightyvr6 0
Could well be the lambda sensor causing the ecu to retard the timing leading to a drop off in performance.
zerocool 0
did you change the fuel pressure regulator for the 4 bar one?could be faulty maf sensor,or it could be the rev limiter as it cuts in about that mark
VRmonster 1
nah, the limiter bounces, doesnt just hold the revs.
mina 0
Fuelling is always an issue with s/c kits - upping your fuel pressure regulator may not fix it as the standard injectors can only deliver a certain flow rate. This will probably need a session on the rollers to see what's wrong I'm afraid....
just2zang 0
bugger! The limiter is set to 7k on the zr2 chip, and was working until it played up. Its like it reaches 6400 and violently stops reving almost like a sensor has cut and it looses power drastically. I havn't done it more than a couple of times as i dont want to reck my baby. I've got a 4 bar fuel pressure regulator. definately need a session at the rollers me thinks (u told me this before mina!). I do have a new lamda sensor waiting for me, so ill put that on and take it from there. Thanks guys :-)[ Edited Tue Jun 01 2004, 11:50PM ]
