Edmonzo 0
Well, after my wife brought my VR6 home saying it was making a 'funny noise' I had it checked out at my local garage. It's thrown a bearing in the engine which has damaged it beyond economical repair :-(It's my pride and joy and really don't want to see the car go!!Does anyone know of a place that supplies VR engines at a reasonable price?I appreciate any help anyone can provide on this.Cheers. Edmonzo 0
Mechanic has been back on and I just don't think that I can afford to pour more money into the car. Even if I do get a cheap engine (cheers guys btw) it looks like the labour costs will cripple me.

Who told you the car was beyond economical repair? PLEASEdon't tell me it was a main dealer. Take your car asap down to The Phirm or Stealth. The Phirm or Stealth are far far more knowledgable than main dealers (and more than half the price)...they will also be able to source a good engine at a good price. They are the best in the business mate and may well be able to fix your engine without the need for a new engine. Give em a call. Good luck mate.
antera309 3
If the bodywork's good on it, it's worth saving. Second hand VR engines are plentiful and cheap these days and the likes of Stealth, The Phirm or Strictly Dubs will be able to fit it in less than a day for reasonable money. Edmonzo 0
Guys, I really appreciate all of the help and advice that's been given and it's given me a few options which I'll have to have a think about. A couple of people have shown an interest in the rolling shell as well so that's another option. What a great site, and a great bunch of people. Thanks again.
shail 0
Gutted for you. Thats excatly the same as what happened to mine a year or so ago. Bearing went and totally knackerd the whole engine. I ended up getting a very low mileage Corrado engine fitted at Stealth. Cost a bomb but would have lost more scrapping / breaking the car as I only had it a year when it happened. It still pisses me off when I think about it.
Edmonzo 0
Cheers Shail, how much did it cost you at Stealth?
