Just a quick tip if you have a BMC - I've had one for a while now, and it needs clearing out every now and then. HOwever, I tried the other night and all the acrews which hold it together had corroded to the point I cant get them off. Probably a good idea to protect them somehow (petrolium jelly?) or replace with ones that wont corrode.

Mark did you fit the cold air feed or not bother? I haven't bother and don't notice any difference. Stealth said it wont make any difference. Most of the good sound will go if the cold air feed is fitted...unfortunately. I may get round to fitting my cold air feed sometime but its a bit of a hassle getting a garage to move the carbon cannistor.

move it yourself, its just a matter of extending hoses... or better still just chuck it in the bin

No I didn't bother, from what I had read (and I read as much as I could) it makes little or no difference when driving and is a complete pain to fit. So nope, I haven't bothered.

What is the carbon canister for anyway? :$

So far I'm really pleased with the BMC, it makes a nice noise, not too noisy but certainly sounds more exciting as the car was as quiet as a mouse before. Not sure if there is a performance gain, but from driving today I can't notice any difference. I guess the only way to know for sure is rolling road it before and after fitting. I'm happy with it though! Not particularly cheap, and I was a bit shocked to then have to go out and spend another £20 on the silicone hose to connect it to the MAF after already spending £160 on it but hey, all done now!
