MarkP 0
My rear seat is creaking the whole time when driving, it's VERY frustrating. I've only had the car a few weeks ('97 Highline), so this is the ONLY thing that's annoying me.. so I'm sure it could be worse, but is there any way of killing it? From the driving position is sounds like the noise is coming from the right hand split seat (directly behind me) and creaks when driving and going over bumps etc.If this a common issue or is is just me? :-( Any suggestions much appreciated! Many thanksMark
shail 0
Are you sure its the seat? I had what i thought was a creaking seat. It turned out to be the exhuast. There is a small horizontal bar which is welded to the exhaust which holds the rubber hangers. The bar had come off the exhaust, so I had it welded back on.

I'm going to push the seats down and go for a drive and see if it still does it. Then I'll come back! Thanks mate!Mark
Robster 0
If it isn't the seat....Mine's been creaking/squeaking for nearly a year now. I was sure it was coming from behind the b-post finisher and had it all off at the weekend. Only to find it was the door slam pin.The plastic collar on it was squeaking and must have been using the car interior as a sound box!Put a dab of motorbike chainlube on it and went for a drive...Ahhhh silence. For now... MarkP 0
Okay I drove around today with the driver side of the split seats folded down and there was no noise. So it seems as though it must be the seat, but I'm not quite sure how to prevent the noise now, now really sure if lubricating it will make any difference. I think it's just the body of the car moving etc with the seat folded back is making something creak.Anyone got any ideas what the best thing to do it? Apart from wrapping everything in bubblewrap until it stops creaking. :-d ThanksMark
VR6Rich 3
Have you got leather? If so cleaning/feeding the seats may reduce the squeekiness!
