ian 182 0
Think of the evo or TVR you could by for the same money though. Not my cup of teaian
matth76 1
I heard the cooper S works had a 0-60 around 6.6 secs with 200bhp.. A lightly tuned VR should equal its performance. Out of all the 'new' minis though I prefer it but still not my cup of tea and too overpriced. Although there was a nice German tuned mini on top gear a couple years back with 300bhp... and could be had for not much more than the mini cooper works. For the money though I'd still rather have a second hand R32 mk4 (with its 4wd) and have properly sorted twin turbo conversion. All for the same price in total... but with twice the power (400bhp) and good reliability/quality being the R32.

clarkie 1
i dont like them pirsonaly but they are bloody quick.i couldnt even get close to it in my vr until i got to about 130 then started to catch up abit
vr6matt 0
Cool stuff. I test drove one on sataday and was definatley quick. It was the 210 cooper, practically a go kart, handling was razor sharp and felt very chuckable.I managed 112 bananas up a stretch of road i know in the mini, then tested it in my VR afterwards and got 103....I like them but they do seem overpriced, have a bit of a shitty image, and not to sure the old 1.6 will last
Petesvw 0
I'd defo have one ; )
Russ_vr6 12
quick ,would be great cars IF THEY DIDNT HAVE THE MINI BADGE!!!!THEY ARE NOT A MINI!!!!!!!lol as u can tell im a 'proper' mini man through n through,my last mini was a 1012cc built to circiut spec, balanced bottom end,12g295 cooper head, double valve springs, and a serioulsy oversides 286 cam lol, didnt get goin till 4k,but then it would swin round to 8.5k lolcompletely wasted a std coop s few days ago,so would like to go against a works
vr6matt 0
yea i totally agree, nothing like the original mini, in fact, they are not even small so how can they call them a MINI! they only weight 90kg less than the VR!I like the fact they have a touch of presitge heritage from BMW mixed with a a chuckable fun car..... they are growing on me... shall i buy!?
Eat this 2
goin from official stats they are 50kg lighter than a vr hehe id love a play with a works reckon itd be a good equal battle
deviousdavey 0
I'd have one..... if it was like my dad's!!He's taken his to GTTuning in Dorset and they've increased it to ~250bhp (6) , and it eats the 210bhp for breakfast, along with a couple of TVR's when I was driving it. :-# Only problem is when he really canes it the fuel consumption drops to between 8 and 12 mpg!! The only reason he doesn't mind is cos it's just his weekend toy... lucky bugger! 8o|
vr6matt 0
That sounds awesome! I may well have to have a look at that companys site!Your dad is a lucky man mate!
goonersteve 0
I've driven the 'Cooper S' on a trackday but not the works version. Was fun to drive but wouldn't have one personally as they are kinda girly. Plus you get the 'old skool Mini crew' who are never gonna accept it! (fair enough though)
mike 6
i wouldnt own one lol, they are kinda girly i guess, but when you see them with a set of theright wheels looks alot better. kinda a love hate with them LOL i respect there quickness but girls are in love with buying them, and that always ruins it for me, didnt like um in the 1st place like..... does it out hanle a vr?
