and im not exagerating before anybody doubts it lol

i was coming home from work behind a big line of traffic, when i decided to take a back road short cut and they guy in front with a 55 reg evo had the same idea lol,off bottom end of 2nd n off we go,he pulls aout 2 or 3 lenths up to 110,when wwe have to slow down for some bends, then into a village (chance to go slow 4 a bit lol) off agsin out the other side this time along small b roads so not over 70 and out the corners i was stayin with him,the turn in on the coilovers are just amazing! then he turned off,so i was happy :)

N.B.

my opinion on back road racing is this:

most people will say 'its an evo u wont have kept' or 'he wasnt trying'

now my opinion is these cars like the evo's are amazing a to b cars, and im not saying i beat him and he def was trying

now im saying that if driven right they are able to have 'slower' cars keep up like the golf

my piece said lol

lol cheeky!well it was a low spec evo which are not 300 bhp

and like i said it is possible

example : i used to own a 240 bhp scooby 0-60 5.4 according to prodrive

i sold it to my mate who got it tested and got 0-60 in 6.9 as he wasnt doin full throttle launches

and also i have 650 quids worth of coilovers on too,and cornering speed is no prob

also im running fwd with 196 bhp , 193 lbs ft torque and no turbo to worry about lag.....

nope avo' mate, boody brilliant tho, came on the car, they about 2 yrs old now and are really good

also pls remember this is real life driving, not 'the evo does 0-60 in 5 secs u cant keep with him'

i know the road well and can carry decent speed on it

also i not saying im a good driver but my dad used to rally and i have been fortunate to have him teach me to drive, and i also do alot of track driving and rally days too,so iv been lucky and i can generally tell what the cars doing. im not saying im a gr8 river but just look at most motorsports and there is always an underdog that really shouldnt have beat the more powerfull cars but does lol

pls understand as i said this is on the road driving where 0-60 quotes and general hp dont count

iv been beaten round bk roads i didnt know by a berlingo van before lol,so depends on car road and driver,u can keep up :)

Sounds like you been lucky with things.

Maybe you could set up an open day for the club and give us all lessons in better driving ! Hehehe, would be fun. Something I always fancied doing. :-)

Underdogs I always like. They make things interesting ;-)

Mark.

You're completely right mate, i agree with you. The car is important, but it aint going anywhere without a decent driver at the wheel!

I've done one or two of my mates before who drive a supposedly faster car, simply because i knew the road better.

I only get to drive my vr weekends ,and it is a joy to drive the power is addictive thats why i'm doing more to the engine this year.

I'm still waiting to have ago against my bros evo 8 i'll be ok if i dont race of the mark i think. Ive been in it they put the power down very easy must say handling is superb i'm not one for daft racing on roads with traffic but if safe and roads clear i dont mind opening the vr up the s/c noise is sweet. ;)

exactly mate' date='thats the point of my thread lol,im glad that every1 understands what i mean, most forums would have had a few people shouting off about 0-60 times by now lol

That's what makes the VR6OC is what it is :-d It aint full of rude bwoy chav's who think it's just about the straight line speed!
