Your car would have been well in for a shout of a prize I reckon Ben. Mine would aswell judging by some of the other cars that were entered. I thought it was a poor show generally, good job the ukmk3's didn't mind us tagging on with them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well I had a couple of hours to tinker on the golf today so I got all of the mounts bolted down most of the plumbing and wiring done lower inlet and injectors bolted in exhaust manifolds bolted up then I remove all of the air con pipes. I used one of the hockey pucks on the front mount to raise the sump a bit then I put my upper inlet on to make sure the bonnet would close with the engine lifted a bit and I could just get a finger between them but the front end isn't on so the bonnet sat lower than normal Just need to sort out where im gonna put my oil catch can now
Cheers for that I can't believe I'm saying this but I had more luck doing it that way and using a lighter, plenty of lube and easing the rings in like a gentlemen seamed to work for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yea sort of I'm in the middle of a full rebuild had the block skimmed to as the corrosion around the water galleries was quite bad. I'm having piston ring issues at the mo fucking things keep breaking!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Whats your goal for bhp? Pete is probably you best bet as I think his carrado is the highest na vr on the forum. But big money to do it. But here is what ive picked up from here and know from older projects. First off the 6 branch on a vr6 has very limited gains as the ports are un equal aparently there is only one company thats actully managed a exhaust manifold with gains. Never looked into which company because its so pricey. But heat is an enemy so heat wrap it up to lower you engine bay temps! Mk4 metal head gasket is a cheep way to higher the compresion of the engine more compresion help
