  1. Cheers dude Yes it's not a common colour, when I went to look at buying one it had to be in this colour. Was lucky to find it Lots planned for it over winter! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  2. I've ended up going for a full new forged bottom end now with low comp. JE Pistons etc..... APR head bolts and a fully refurbed head, so mating surfaces are fully re-faced on block and head. Whats the advantage of the Mk4 head gasket over the Victor Reinz Mk3 one? I'm running a high spec charger and shrick on the Mk3 so not really sure i need to run more compression as its a low compression piston set etc.... Thanks again for all the input, I feel like a newbie all over again! Simon.

  4. Yeah it's a bit of a joke, the things got wind up windows!! I also own this which is an m sport; But has no m badges stuck anywhere! Because I also hate them with a passion, unless I thought it might make the occasional person giggle! It's a shame I didn't have an rs2 or 4 badge cause I would've stuck that on there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Luckily it seems a friend knowS a friend.... who is a welder! So I might be in luck for a job that works, doesn't need to look nice as gooing under trim and car in my opinion. And I 100% do not have 700 for a while knocking around .

  15. Cheers Pete, have already been in touch with Vince although I don't want to go crazy money wise as already have two other engine builds in progress, building FI engines for both the Mk2 and the Mk3. This is just a stop gap engine to get the car back on the road (I've had mk3 sorn over 5 years now!) Thanks Daveyboy, would you recommend getting the Victor Rienz head bolts too advertised on there or are the standard Febi etc. ones ok? Is there a way to check its definitely a V Rienz gasket as I have one I got years ago and it may well already be the right one! Thanks for all the info guys, I've
