  1. Octobers feature car 2014 This months favourite car goes to one of our newest members here on VR6OC. It's TJ Carroll and his lovely mk2 Jetta. It's running the 2.8 24v VR6 in a smoothed and shaved bay. The wheels are also a particular favourite of ours with the plus of being extremely rare. Anyway, here is a few words from the man himself. The person behind the car. Name: TJ Carroll Forum user name: Tommyjoe Age: 27 Occupation: Firefighter/SSO Location: Ireland Hobbies: VWs, Rugby + Play some golf too, When I get time! 12. Victor reinz headgasket, elring for head bolts and crank seal, genuine for chains guides and tensioners. Genuine is more money but the timing system is the most critical part of the whole thing so it's worth the extra

  13. If your going for a catch can you could just put another hose to the throttle body hose and have it sealed properly

  14. You may want to have the block looked at by a specialist as new rings may not be worthwhile if there is a lot of wear or scoring to it. Head gasket definitely do whilst its off. The VR6 doesn't have a cambelt. It uses timing chains and tensioners, all of which are worth replacing if they haven't been already. Other things to consider would be; Clutch+new mounting hardwareCrank end oil sealThermostat, thermostat housing, 'crack' pipe and all associated seals and fixingsPossibly oil cooler+hoses, definitely the oil cooler seals Probably worth giving the cylinder head a refresh with new valv
