  1. Hi all A while back I bought a 1992 MK3 VR6 Golf (J350 ETV), had a dead engine, stripped engine, re-bore, new Pistons, shells, rings, head skimmed, spent lots on it, great car in excellent condition - nevertheless, sold the car now The car came with a spare engine which I knew nothing about...., I've since converted it to OBD2 (cam sensor and cover, coilpack, inlet, etc) Bought a loom, ECU, immobiliser, clocks, and..... It runs ! I was going to put this engine in a kit car or something (wanted to build one for years ! So..., first thing I bought was a starter, adapter ring and dual mass flywhe

    Black stone

Well opened up the packages so I can put them together before sending them off for a refurb. Got a bargain on these babies, rear set up had loads of meat on the pads and disks, same with the front pads too, shame I will be bining them all. Just need to find so decent pads for the front now

    Just a quckie

I thought it was just the different silver faces, I don't think multicolour led's and stuff were about when they were 10-15 years ago! Sure I remember them being in a couple of max power feature cars....... am I showing my age?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Heater Matrix Replacement

You can get a much cheaper one, about 10% of the price, but I heard bad things about cheap heater matrices so went genuine as I didn't want to do it twice. Just did the heater matrix on my A3 8P that was £180 but at least not a dash out job, just a glovebox out and a lot in job.

  7. All the parts you need will fit regardless of odb1 or 2. If you need wings though you will need the later ones as they have oval side repeaters and the early ones have square

    Head refresh

When you get the head skimmed you should get the upper timing chain cover that bolts to the head skimmed at the same time, just in case you didn't know.

    VR6 GOLF MK3 EXHAUST

Your best bet would be to have a quick search online or eBay. Depending on your location you may have a company local to you where you can have a custom exhaust made. Otherwise you can try websites such as, awesome GTi, C&R enterprises. Hope it helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Nice work mate and welcome to the mad house. There's a fair few people in the club who have turbo'd VR's so if you need any help there'll be plenty thrown at you

  14. That's a pretty low comment Kev, also misleading and derogatory. Matt has done some pretty ground breaking stuff as far as writing software is concerned and a long way off old skool chips that you refer to; that coupled with his involvement in building some of the fastest VR6 and Audi RS cars in the world makes him more qualified than most on here to make any of the factual statements he makes and in turn sets his opinion apart from the rest which is valued by most users on here.

  15. What is the reason for the specific 400hp? have you even driven a 400hp/ton front wheel drive car? 400hp is VERY easy to get on these engines' date=' but its how that 400hp is delivered that you need to pay attention too. Use a small frame turbo with a small turbine and you'll make 400hp with HUGE torque down low that will destroy clutches and gearboxs and drive horribly; or you can use a bigger frame turbo with bigger a turbine housing to produce 400hp with a decent torque curve. Your gearbox and clutch will have more respect for you this way and the car will drive 100 times better. My advic
