A Golf VR6 was the first quick car I ever drove probably a month or so after passing my test and having a mk4 escort 1.3L with as many Rs turbo bits as I could find bolted to it[emoji12], I couldn't believe my luck when my boss told me to drop it back to the customer. I absolutely loved it and thought it was the fastest thing ever! Then last year ( about 13 or 14 years later I was flicking through eBay looking to relive my youth by hunting for an escort or fiesta turbo[emoji14]and then realising I didn't want to spend £2000 on a rust bucket with no power steering[emoji23]I came across my Vr f3 points -

I would of bought them at that price, bargain! Yeah I love my snap-on stuff as well, you just can't beat it, I'm a proper tool tart! Talking of bargains picked up this lot today for all of....... nothing[emoji3] Well the bloke didn't want anything but I gave him a drink for it, want to get it all painted or powder coated ready for the new engine. Plus it'll be good to have a few spares. Anyone got any idea what it costs to have something like a subframe powder coated? Not something I've ever had done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I hear that, I'm considering starting a club for not enough time or money! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Yeah they look the same pal and seem to be cheaper for the mk2. Just my luck to buy some and the fittings are slightly offset. Haha. Yeah roll in the chrimbo hold. Last year we worked in between and it was dead. This year I'm shutting it down on the 23rd and not going back till the 2nd of jan. Only too do all the bits on my car that is because I keep my VR at work. Haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Clio is a great trackday car with adequate performance and neutral handling, I had a 03 reg 172 cup for a short while which I took to goodwood. I enjoyed the day but became increasingly annoyed by a poxy old Morgan plus8 which I couldn't get near and an e type roadster whose dust I was eating every 3-4 lap, and as for the radical, that was doing 2 laps to my 1. I sold the clip after a trip to the Alps in it, talk about bone shaker, so hard on the suspension i had to sell it! I also did snett in my prodrive Scooby wagon, that was not a bad day either, that cooked its brakes quite quickly though1 point -
Dash speakers are 3.5 inch, doors 6.5 Inch. Here's a link for some dash speakers I've been considering. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=130471974999 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Doors are 165mm and I think the rears are the same but I don't know about the dash sorry mate. The grills pop off dead easy and the speakers just flick out if you wanted to put a tape across one.1 point

Well think the answer is they are drawing 60 amps off the battery wich is then causing a low amp out put towards the fuel pump , , fuel pump being further away from the battery , car is currently starting every turn off the key so fingers crossed it's sorted1 point -
The visors were £24.00 pound pal including postage of fleabay. He did have another set on for the same price but just had a look and there gone pal. I had a few sets on watch but the last minute bidders killed the price and they were going off for about £45-£50. No chance I was paying that. Haha. Nice work on the high flow pump and straps. I'm more excited that I can see snap-on tools scattered about the floor. Haha. I've got a serious addiction for snap-on. Haha.1 point

My dad has always had cars that had something special about them. I wasn't very old but Some I was old enough to remember. A few that come to mind are a Datsun that had a rover v8 under the bonnet, mk1 golf gti and an early Bmw 325i sport.. He had taken me out in all of them. However one day he pulled on the drive in a different car I remember him telling me to come look. He told me it was the latest vw golf he told me is was the 2.8 vr6 highline . I was too young to understand what that ment but he seemed more excited about this car than any others I remember. I instantly fell in love wit1 point -

Bit of a milestone for the car yesterday, I finished fitting the subframe, crossmember and suspension and towed it back up the garden to its new "home" a 3mx6m car port. But before I tucked it away I gave it a good wash1 point -
Half finished Golf match! Doubt it somehow, but will be there to have a look round1 point

Nice! Looking good mate. My turbo does not sit as high up as yours. I was thinking of putting an elbow on the top of my turbo and having the boost pipe run across the rocker cover diagonally if there is enough room to do that while still being able to close the bonnet. If not then it will have to be a longer run around the left side of the engine I think.1 point

Painted and Polished a few things.... 1st heat resistant aluminum paint afterwards light sand, more heat resistant paint, repeated for a couple of layers until nice a smooth. Then colour coat, 2K, Colour coded to same as car. The parts that were masked I had already previously polished. I also painted the large pulley at the same time Most of the parts waiting the be re-assembled Test fit.1 point

Took the inlet manifold off and rocker cover to have a go at polishing them up for that mirrored look. Bit of elbow grease, sandpaper, polish and a few hours and look what happened( great sense of achievement ) Oh and the none return value on the breather fell to bits when I took it off1 point
