  2. Right Guys and Gals...... We need to organise a rolling road day early on in 2015. After trawling the posts it seems the best place for this is at Stealth's. It seems that there has been numerous threads to try and organise this but nothing has been set in stone and all posts have dried up. Who has organised previous RR days at Stealth's?????? Can we get something set in stone?????? January probably isn't the best time as everyone will be getting on there feet after Christmas. Stealth's probably isn't commuter friendly for some but I'm sure if I can get there from Manchester then most can do

  4. In with the donor ABV 2.9 Corrado VR6 Chuck the engine at the GTI.... Build the front end back up! After changing about a few MAF's, sensors, ECU's etc it finally started running and driving like it should, so gave the Golf a nice wash and booked MOT! At the MOT station, I'm happy to report she passed with flying colours! Only one advisory, with was play in the Near Side inner steering arm joint, which I'll get sorted before the new wheels go on and I get the tracking set up And first proper fill up with the good stuff [url=http://s1198.photobucket.com/user/Dan

  5. Well! I have had the VR6 on the road for a couple of weeks, and so far so good! Time for an update with pictures then Going back a bit, I had the OBD1 AAA in and running, so I started MOT prep by getting the windscreen replaced! And did a trial fitment of my new bargain 16x7 Beetle Contur alloys. Now these are the same size as the 16x7 BBS RX2's that would have been run on the anniversary model, so I'll be using the factory spec of 215/40/16 tyres, probably Falkens. Before I get tyres I'll be painting them inside and out in either a Bronze or a Metallic Grey, but still undecided

  7. Cheers mate. It's been a awesome experience for me so far. Just finished working on it for tonight. I did 6 hours on it, no stopping and skipped dinner lol. Here's how I left her for tonight. I started getting some of the coolant hoses on. Boost pipes from the throttle body to the intercooler are done. Extended the brake servo pipe to the short runner.

  8. I agree, I'm not too biased when it comes to cars, I've had a fair few (48) over the years, anything from renault 5 Monaco to a Volvo 480 es, before they became retro. I find with jap cars that they seem to be specifically designed for short arses, that's hardly surprising I suppose. I'd still have an ek3 type r civic again though, mine was great fun........ At least you could get some money back from the tt comps toward your mrs new set of wheels if you wanted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. If it were a Saturday I would probably come down in the afternoon to meet you guys. Doubt I would put my car on the rollers as it should be going to Stealth before Xmas anyway to get mapped.
