Got to work on the car today. Sorted out the gear selection issue it was a minor problem. One of the coolant hoses was getting in the way of the gear selector thing If that's what it's called. A couple of tie wraps worked a treat. Sorted the downpipe out with some spring washers, self locking nuts and some thread lock stuff. Drove the car for around 100 miles today. The more I'm driving it the more I'm falling in love. The sound of the turbo spooling and sucking in air is awesome and addictive. Even by just driving up to around 3k revs which I'm doing at the moment it pulls so nice and really4 points

i was going to keep the leather but have decided im going to keep the factory gti seats. just give them a good damn clean. as for my 5 door leather that is in near mint condition - this will be up for sale very shortly. once i have it out the motor. this will fund my cams (hopefully) i want to keep it as original as pos on the outside. i take pleasure in showing little boy racers up when they think they can drive and dont know what im packing couple of months ago i was driving down the M25 and had a Fabia VRs try and race me ( technically he should have beaten me hands down) he didnt2 points

Cheers Bealie being called a retard is better than what my wife calls me on a regular basis when I start talking about my golf to her lol2 points

Ignore cabbs, he's as mad as a box of monkeys, and daveyboy's not far behind. In our neck of the woods, we'd call blokes like them retards! My knowledge of the Vr6 extends as far as changing a headlight bulb and making a cup of tea, I'm better at the latter! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

I haven't went through any mate......well not yet lol. Drive shafts are fine. It's a common solution from smashing sumps and cheaper than putting an R32 sump on1 point

She doesn't drive mate. And it may stay that way. Haha. I'm her fooking taxi. Bring Me, fetch me, carry me. Lol1 point

I'd let your mrs drive it before you get your new wheels cabbs, that way your rotas will stay in one piece! My mrs would Hoover the vr6 but it would cost me dearly! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

redvr6_girl reacted to VR6CABBS for a topic
Just remember a while back you saying your fella had a mk4 so thought it may have been his. In all fairness them fobs were crap anyway. I went through about three of them on my GTI. If you drop them they crack the little circuit boards. If you don't sort it let me know and I'll speak to my pal. He works for VW.1 point -
Found another pic from last year or was it yr before??1 point
-
Cheers Pete, Yeah I love the vrt package they offer, Oe looking, reliable and producing great returns it had to be done. I went out in another earlier this yr and was sold! Brackets are for my 330mm brakes bud, they are beautifully made! They will go on when I get the car back, all parts now ready.1 point
-
Very nice mate. What are the alloy brackets for? You will love the stealth turbo conversion, looks very OEM and everyone has said how good and reliable they are! Maybe one day I will get one myself. Love my Corrado though! Especially after the new engine stealth built me (nearly run in now!) Pete1 point

well she is on 16s and you cant really see the top of the tyres. only found out the other day that the previous owner had installed 5mm spacers. but yeah, speed humps had to be tackled at < 5MPH i used to cak myself when i let the missus drive it, but give her credit, she done well with regards to obstacles lol1 point

I meant 600 degree red paint lol Your not allowed to pot your white balls? You call that marriage and kids? I'm screwed then, been with my missus 8 years not married no kids and I get less action than a traffic warden1 point

I guess there all the same once that rings on the ringer pal.1 point

Come on daveyboy, your letting the side down here. Fancy mensioning golf. Well the misses has got a point mate. I'm sport mad mate but golf is summart I've never took to. Thought of old blokes messing with there little white balls is so wrong on many levels. Look what happened to Rolf Harris. He now plays with balls a lot bigger. Hahahahah1 point

Best thing you can use for clean is petrol. Neat petrol in a tray, brush it well in with a paint brush and wash it off. Jizer is not a problem at all and don't worry about getting it inside the bores it's water washable, and you'll be using plenty of fresh engine oil in the rebuild process anyway. I hope! Take it from an old school mechanic mate, I've jizzed on many an engine from small cars to mainly heavy diesel HGVs. The amount of 12 litre MAN engines I've built using old school methods and I've never had a problem. Get stuck in and reap the rewards when your done [emoji106] Also, wire whee1 point

Good stuff that paraffin for shifting shit mate. I don't see it being much of a problem if you get splashes inside but you don't want to be pitting anything so block the holes and clean the top off and use duck tape.1 point
-
I should think an oil change would clear any that gets inside. I'm sure redex is a kind of paraffin and we use that in our fuel tanks for its cleaning properties. Just take the little and often approach whilst cleaning, but give it a nice bit of a soak to loosen the worst. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Stealth Racing Turbo Kit discussion
allstarrme reacted to mrsusan for a topic
It is absolutely brilliant! Still using any excuse just to go out and drive the thing some blurb and pics: For the benefit of some who asked about the stealth turbo: Firtly, I must say the level of service is top notch and I can't recommend the stealth guys enough. Vince and co spent a long time explaining everything that had been done, the reasons why and how to maintain the vehicle, recommending the best plugs, oil, etc. it was obvious that a hell of a lot of work had gone in to the car, and IMO it represented excellent value for money if you're seriously considering turbo but don't feel1 point
