I wasn't trying to imply you were into that stuff mate honestly, I genuinely do apologise if it came across that way. I'll say one thing for those lads in tweeks, they are helpful and I've bought gauges and stuff of them for the land rover in the past, along with many other bits. In fact most of my mates have run up some pretty scary bills in there with cams and engine parts wheels tyres etc, but some stuff is pricey all the same.

Did you rebuild your injectors or get new injectors while re-building engine? I would get them check and see if there firing correctly. If one is down on it flow, and not firing to it full potential it will cause it to cut out under load. As one or. 2 cylinders could be starved of fuel. As VR system can handle 4 bar pressure. Lates spec VRs came with 3 bar, but early spec Corrado with Dizzy came with 4 bar, and only difference in system is fuel regular and fuel filter. They used a threaded type fuel filter instead of a push to connect type. So I'd get the injectors checked, you can take th

You need to find out what thread is on the feed pipe itself, then youl know what sort of adaptor is required. Most hydraulic fittings are normally BSP. If what your showing me there is the high pressure feed side you can use something like this which should be available from a local hydraulics company Or take the pipe and turbo with you and say "I need that to fit in there please" Otherwise there flange adaptors available to pick up on the 2 M6 threads. I would imagine the low pressure return pipe is something along these lines too This is the company I use regularly, they do all manor of p

I like the P-zeros, good grippy tyre. Tad on the noisy side but good all the same. I really rate Dunlop sport maxx too. They are expensive but they were fitted as standard to the mk4 r32 and used to stick like jizz on a blanket!

Cheaper yes I agree but when you have a Vauxhall engine, being converted to dry sump and eventually being fitted in a MK 2 Escort DT is a great place to go to with a few pieces and say "That needs to fit to that" out come a load of fittings, they then get assembled and paid for and the job moves forward, internet is ok but imagine how long it would take to order what you think you need and then have to send it back because it doesn't fit. DT tyres are usually competitive too.

Hi everybody. i would say im new but not new in a way (had an account a while back, cant remember username or email and the acc was hardly used, so thought id set up a new one) well a little bit of where i am. proud owner of a mk3 GTi and mk3 VR6. WOW a vast catalogue there i wouldnt buy a cheap third party one anyway. nothing but hassle. for my rebuild it has all been original VW parts from the parts department. valves, guides, piston rings, chains, chain guides, oil pump, pickup pipe, all gaskets. just to name a few. should have totalled over 1k in parts but the fella in beadles gave me 50% off because we were talking about what im doing. he too restores old VWs he said "its about time more people took time over the older (better) vag vehicles" so win win lol

Yeah you can even get them in scrappies off other VW or Audi. 1.8T's have them but some are 3 bar some are 4. 1.8 BAM - 4 bar 1.8 AUG, AWW (all the AW engine code) - 3 bar So the better mk4 golfs with BAM engine, Audi TT's, older S3's, S4's. A6's with 2.7t, 2.8, 3.0. Early spec Corrado. Passat 1.8T, Any 3.2, golf, tt, s3. So loads to choose from Can get them new from VW or TPS. I'd recommend a German Bosch one, Same as a genuine VW. Cheaper eBay ones are meant to be shit. I'd rather a 2nd hand genuine VW, than a cheaper eBay version.

Depends what age OBD1 engine is it, some do some don't. If got a dizzy cap (not coilpack) it should have, but not definite as pervious owner could of swapped it. Just check it, it's on the end of the fuel rail. If it may say 3 or 4 bar on it. If it doesn't it will definitely have a part number on it. And the google part numbers and 3 and 4 bars have different part numbers.

I ain't taking no chances so have just gone for 205/40's. Had an email tonight to say they will be dispatched on Monday. Should get them Tuesday. Could always drop to 195's in the future.

Got to work on the car today. Sorted out the gear selection issue it was a minor problem. One of the coolant hoses was getting in the way of the gear selector thing If that's what it's called. A couple of tie wraps worked a treat. Sorted the downpipe out with some spring washers, self locking nuts and some thread lock stuff. Drove the car for around 100 miles today. The more I'm driving it the more I'm falling in love. The sound of the turbo spooling and sucking in air is awesome and addictive. Even by just driving up to around 3k revs which I'm doing at the moment it pulls so nice and really
