Thanks for the info just what I wanted to know. I will just use the o2m for now and can always store the rest of the stuff for a later date. I love the mk2 g60 my cousin has one bored out to 2.0 and running a Bahn brenner charger that thing shifts. Although he has now decided the g60 lump will go in his lupo his e46 m3 lump is going in the golf and the BMW is getting a big block v8.3 points

I went for Leon Cupra R Brembo's, these are a 323 mm disc and 4 pot calliper. this was an upgrade from the 312 mm set up that was fitted as standard to my MK 4 Golf. They just fit behind 17" Team Dynamic Pro race 3 wheels but I have to use 15mm spacers when I fit my Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2's2 points -
You could drive it if it's just the release baring that has failed. Although it's not really recommended but a couple of miles would probably be ok, you just need to get the revs right for it to drop in gears. Obviously if you have to stop you'll have to turn the engine off put it in gear and literally start the car to pull away.2 points

There's a website, think it's something like www.tyrestretch.com if not have a search on Google. It has a lot of pics of different diameter and width wheels with various tyres stretched on them sent in by people. I found this very helpful Sent from your mums iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

4Motion - Great start to the new year

As the guys above said Definatly sounds like clutch release bearing has failed.. Probably chewed its way through the fingers on the clutch pressure plate. It will not disengage the clutch properly hence gear selection problems. A new cluch kit with brearing should do it. Might be worth inspecting the release fork as I know they are prone to cracking/flexing on some vr6 gearboxes. Not sure if 4mo are the same .2 points -
While researching Z-engineering supercharger i found very little information on these chargers, and alot of people saying you can't get parts for them any more. Z-engineering have been taken over by RUF and are not the most hopefully company, their Swedish, and speak limited English. But I found once taking the chargers apart some parts did have some kind of marking or model number on them. They were just sneaky when putting them together, and would put the bearing marking facing inwards so you can't see them until removed. Then measuring parts, researching more, looki1 point

Hello all, I have signed up to try and find out more about Mk3 Golfs. I have to admit that I don't have a VR6 but a 16V Anniversary instead. Time to browse the forums looking for bits and pieces to give me some ideas. I'm no stranger to VWs having owned various over the years including a Jetta GTI and also, a B3 Passat GT VR6 (LHD). Apart from the Anniversary I also have a low mileage Mk2 Golf GTI. Best Regards Simon.1 point -

According to this thread they do fit but you need to run 17" wheels. http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5235481 point -

I would imagine so, it is just a matter of getting the correct carriers if not, the 312 set up I removed bolted straight onto a MK 2 Golf. The Brembo's are readily available, check out LCR forum of ukmkiv's, Briskoda etc they are always appearing for sale. I run Ferodo DS3000 pads in mine and only on track.1 point -
I think for the sake of a few ££ its worth getting a flat bed out, drove about half a mile with it like this and couldn't bear the grinding of gears Cheers!1 point

Stick with it Ben, they all have niggles here and there but once ironed out they are great motors. I've had 2 mk4 r32s in the past and they were both faultless. Same goes for my old faithful mk3 VR, couple of niggles here and there but 99% of the time she doesn't let me down.1 point -
Yep that's the one, really freshens it up inside. My leathers are in pretty good nick but these half leather half alcantara are spotless Sent from your mums iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

£40???? now in my understanding silicon is silicon. if these hoses are made of silicon which is the same as roose or any other manufacturers then why the huge markup? £40 to £320?? obviously its natural for us to think more money means a better product and to steer clear from something that is so much of a drastic difference price wise. does anyone have these running that can comment?1 point

People do say they handle a lot better on 16s but there's a lot of us that run 17 and find them perfectly fine. Myself included. I wouldn't go up to 18s tho as that does require arches rolling and it kills the handling because they're simply too big for the car1 point

I do indeed my friend, here is my old 4 pot golf; And my new (now off the road after 30 minutes driving) V6 4Mo; Excuse the images on their side.. The 4Mo letting me down has made me regret selling the gti, although I did love the VR6 soundtrack, even if was only for half an hour Cheers1 point

Clutch release bearing, mine has also shit its pants on my R321 point

They're not rough as such, there's no curbing marks or anything so a fine wet and dry paper and some elbow grease should fetch the rims up a treat. The centres look like they've been dipped, and then sprayed orange over the top by a 15 year old. I might buy some ultra fine paper and wet sand them, polish and see what they come out like. Not too sure on which tyres yet, not really bothered as long as they're not plastic shite.1 point

Managed to do a few things over the Christmas holidays. Was hoping to do a lot more but I had to have my dog put to sleep on Monday so that put everything to a halt managed to get the seats in and the door cards. Not sure if I prefer it with my old leather door cards or the new alcantara ones yet though. Think I may end up dying the alcantara a bit darker shade of red too. Also fitted my black sun visors and black passat grab handles. Not sure why I bothered fitting it all as its all going to have to come out again, just itching to see how it looks I guess. Also managed to source and pick1 point -

ECP run a lot of discount codes on many forums, ukmkiv25, Brisk25 to mention a couple but when you get an email stating a special offer weekend these codes do not work. If you are looking to buy anything now there is a claimed 52% discount offer running, if you type extra5 you will receive an extra 5% off.1 point -
I think you've gotta have a bit of stretch, it seems to just make the wheels look a bit better, my wheels would look rubbish with big fat tyres on em[emoji6]! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
