hi, been chatting with Bealieboy and we are meeting on way (braintree) any southerners looking to meet i was thinking South Mimms services for 7 a.m. that gives 15 minutes to chat then toddington (30 mins) for 7.45 another 15 mins chat and off to stealth (55mins) for 9, and thats all at legal speeds! let us know if its do-able. cheers steve4 points -
Buy a VR and register and insure it in your dads name. Get him to add you on the policy as a ossasional driver. I know you won't be building any no-claims bonus but it will certainly bring the policy down.2 points

Buy the car, (a doer upper) and have a tinker, you can teach yourself some mechanical skills along the way. Think about the long term, once you've got the car how you want it, you will have been driving for a few months by then and insurance would be cheaper. Failing that, but a sleeper mk2 cl with vr conversion. Oh yeah, and don't tell anyone it's a Vr! [emoji2]2 points

every month i got at least a few people asking me if i want to sell my rado.. bare in mind it's far of a mint condition (lots to improve about the bodywork - actually to be fair needs a full respray) and bar the exhaust it's standard vr6. today had a guy who first offered me money to buy him now! and deeply disappointed when refused gave me a 10 minute lecture how wonderful rados are what kind of comments do you hear about your car(s) peeps? swear i need a sticker 'love my car and he's NOT FOR SELL'2 points -
What company will insure me cheaply?

Hi Kieran. Welcome to the club. I think you may struggle mate in the fact that you don't have any or very little driving experience. If you going to shop around I would certainly go direct to the insurer as apposed to comparison websites. Ie Go compare, compare the market etc. the comparison websites share your info and once quoted you don't stand a chance mate. Before quoting, take in account things that would lower your premium. 1. Limited mileage. 2. Cat 1 alarm system and immobiliser. 3. Tracking system. 4. Where your vehicle is kept over night. 5. Adding additional drivers to lower t2 points -

I had an old boy tell me how the mk3 vr was the best golf in his opinion And now and again mainly when car is washed get told its a nice car or how awesome the vr6 sounds2 points -
Big J Thank you for the welcoming. That's crazy cheap for 19. I'm 18 in March but only passed my driving test in December, hopefully I will be able to get a decent insurance price when I am older. Bealieboy I've tried all the tricks but £4.6k is the cheapest I have found so far. I'm only looking to take it to events and meets, so I am considering having one of my parents as the driver and only add me for a week every so often because I believe that is somewhat cheap. My brother is 20 and was insured on my Dad's Audi A3 2014 for £40ish to drive it for a week.1 point

Don't say you use morrisons petrol lol1 point -
I had a guy in morrisons petrol station say to me last week "that cars too nice for you" He works there and has seen me a few times, but he clearly thinks he's funny siting behind his safety screen1 point

Lol cabbs, you've got the wrong w/e, fella, it'll be the one before for aperitifs and scenery or else half the south eastern section will be good for nothing that Sunday, I don't fancy a 2 1/2hr drive with a caved in head. Mistline's on a promise up your way somewhere and ben will be savage where he's not had minutes kip with you roaring like an elephant on heat half the night! [emoji2]1 point

You'll have to add on at least another half hour to that journey time to stealth, Bealieboy only drives at 55mph MAX.1 point -

People will always have a chat with you about a vr6, I've had numerous people stop in the street and comment, it's rather odd I find! It can be anyone from spotty teenagers to 50+ blokes who will ask various questions or tell various Vr stories. Most finish their sentence in the same fashion, "I'd love to own one of those. Yes Massive difference! http://www.vr6oc.com/forum/topic/11043-post-your-rolling-road-results-here/page-8#entry430356 Graph is there with a cam sensor fault so might get bit more Only problem besides cam sensor is the inlet manifold I have a switch in the car to control it at the moment until I wire in the vafc2 to control it The torque is insane compared to the 12v I us d a 4.4kg flywheel which helps in the lower gears Also I migh be on a winner with getting a new ecu1 point -
I bought full leather including door cards but I also accidentally bought another set of door cards! Mistline very kindly collected the other set for me. There, now lots of oc members have got some piss taking ammo! [emoji90]1 point
