  1. Thought I would start a thread for my VR6 Golf. I am lucky enough to own a Corrado VRT as a weekend toy, so this is the daily. Have been a (smallish ) part of this forum for a few years now and have always been impressed with the standard of some people's cars. Have had this mk3 for 4 years, having had a auto 3-door Highline beforehand. I was Iucky enough to find this one available for sale just at the right time when I was looking for a good one, and the bonus was that this one had had a load of work already done to it including a set of 17s, Coilovers a Jetex stainless system and HIDs.

  2. The Leon Cupra R bembo calipers have been hard work getting the right bits for them. But I have finally got everything I need. Just waiting on the TT wheels to be refurbished then I can get everything put on. I went for matt lewis racing braided hoses for LCR brembo calipers, but they also had to send me out separately 2x fine pitch banjo fittings to fit the calipers. Disc and pad combination that was recommended to me was the Ferodo DS2500 pads, EBC Ultimax discs and ATE super blue racing brake fluid. I'm not doing anything on the rears yet but later on I plan on doing the mk4 rear caliper

  5. There is still a difference but not thing major, OBD2 runs a double chain. And OBD1 runs a single chain. But so long as you use correct sensors and throttle body it will work in either.

    VR6 Remap guide

P.S - For anyone playing with NMAX - there is never any need to up your rev limit to 10k, lairy cams and massively modded head about 8k at a push, but I have seen a heavily modded VR6 with a big turbo and they still produce 900hp at 6850rpm and no more power was had up to the 8500rpm red line! The VR6 engines are proper undersquare engines in that they are slow and low revving and best to tune them as such in my opinion.

  17. Bit of an update with my car. It's been back in my garage since last week and i only got round to working on it today. It's all run in so the idea was to do an oil and filter change and get it booked in for mapping. Well today certainly did not turn out like that. Firstly I decided that I will run the original oil cooler with the mocal one as I am not at the moment and in order to do that I will have needed to get the front end back off. So I drained down the coolant and got the front end off.... Next I drained the old oil out. I need to get me a socket for the oil filter housing as I have no

  22. I would recommend not removing the stock oil/water 'cooler' We sell a tube that allows you to fit the stock 'cooler' along with a sandwich plate. This way it is not possible for the oil to be cooled below the factory specifications and it allows the water to be heated by the oil during the warm up of the engine.
