Hi and welcome to the club. Your certainly right, the vr6 is a awesome big of kit. Get some pictures posted of your vr6 mate and if you make a post in the engine maintenance section I'm sure there'll be many a member who will pipe up with answers and opinions.3 points -
Been told to start a build thread so here goes ! Just been to view a B4 VR6 estate took a battery with me and it fired up first time Had a good look round it and ended up putting a deposit down on it. So will pick it up next week. I say project as it needs a heater matrix fitting. The previous owner has it but hasn't fitted it yet It's a 2.8 vr6 with a 2.9 throttle body and air intake. Blue silicone hoses New radiator All new sensor bar one Comes with a stainless exhaust yet to be fitted And only 110k miles I was surprised to how quite these are in standard form So I will have to c1 point

I was born and raised in a strickly hot roding family and i have built my car from ground up. iv gained some friends who are VW all the way and i was introduced too the vr6. Needless to say i have a passion for building engines and the more i reasearch i do the more im loving the vr6. but all my aquired knowledge on building v8's isnt much help in this area. Im dead set on building one from ground up and my first question is... Which block is the best start for a performance engine? block strength/ size/ combatability ECT... any info would be helpfull.1 point

I don't know yet. I've been offered some passat vr bbs standard rims which I might get to start with and then use as winter rims. But I'm just going to carry on looking to see what's about Going to get one piece rims I'm not a fan of splits.1 point

Where to go to get my turbo setup fitted?
cactusjackslade reacted to ibs for a topic
I think it may have been a aftermarket one. I will try with just some sealer and if not then I will get a genuine gasket.1 point -
Tbh it was just an idea whilst I was taking front end off for installing external oil cooler that if it was a simple task I'd do them at the same time. I'll have a look when I get the front end off and see if i can be bothered haha thanks guys1 point

What is a good affordable turbo kit that would fit my 98' Jetta GLX? I figure there's no place better to ask such a question. I'm 18 and this is my first car. I drove my dad's Subaru WRX for awhile and really enjoyed it. He put in a bigger turbo, got it tuned and made it a lot faster. He really enjoys Volkswagen aswell but seeing as how it's an import car and an older model it's not as Common in the United States, especially in the VR6. My car is a lot faster than your average daily driver, but it's dirt stock. Only replacing parts that have gone out over the years of me and my dad owning it.1 point

For the cost of power steering fluid you might as well drain and refill, at least at the expense of your knuckles1 point

i havnt bought anything yet, i have spotted several diff ones for cheap, i wanna learn as much as possible before i spend the money. As soon as i get it i want to have a game plan for the build, then i will be tearing it completly down to bare block and start the build up. Planning on a very high boosted engine with water/methanol injection among other things so i can squeez as much power as possible. Building mainly for drag racing.1 point

November 2014 feature car.
IbizaPartyBoy reacted to michael5556 for a topic
So here is Novembers feature car. This is a personal favourite of mine and a true inspiration. The attention to detail on this car is unreal. It's latest makeover is somewhat controversial with the diehard fans but here at the VR6OC, we love it for its brashness and how much Dougie dared to be different. You will see from the spec list below that it's not just a show car but has all the credentials for the speed check list. Here are some answers from the man himself. The person behind the car. How many?
redvr6_girl reacted to bennyk for a topic
Well at least mine and many more of our cars should start going up in value soon! A good Nova SR is now worth 3k[emoji15]! You could buy one for £150 when I first passed my test! So it's quite nice to be owning a car that should be appreciating rather than depreciating in value for once!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point -
