Iv just took a punt and bought the cheap hoses from China. Mine cane to 50 quid because I wanted red ones lol Will let you all know what they're like etc. The technical info on the listing says they can work with pressures up to 4bar. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk4 points

Little bit of an update for this thread, not got much done to it recently as I've been collecting parts for the engine rebuild.....which even though I'm not going mad with uprated parts is costing a small fortune! Had the spare head stripped, skimmed and rebuilt with new lifters, guides etc, still needs a good clean; Then some arp bits turned up; Also ordered new chains and bearings from oemandmore, Adrian there was very helpful I must say. So these should turn up in the week so I can start putting it all together. Managed to get some highline door cards for pretty much nothing so borrowed th3 points

This will be highly amusing, travelling with 2 potentially saddened Vr owners due to potential rain. I don't think country file weather report can see that far into the future so I can't tell you what's forecast for that day. Still, we could always look on the bright side eh! [emoji23]3 points

Here's a turn up for the club, I and a few members in the essex, saaaf laandaan and Hertfordshire area decided we ought to do something in the way of getting together. So the date is set for Sunday 22nd of feb 2015, the location as yet is unknown but it will involve a bit of a blat and a pit stop in as suitably decent beverage serving establishment. This offer also extends to the surrounding counties and cities. So far on the list we have: Bennyk Mistline Redvr6-girl Denvr6 Djmadman Bealieboy Ssaunders If anyone else fancies a trip out, please let us know via adding yourself to the list or2 points

Sooo, if everything goes according to plan, I should have new bumpers and tailgate in the next week or so with some interior touches to come as well! The main question plaguing me at the moment though, is do I refurb the RX2 alloys I have for this and keep the arches unrolled, or do I paint up and fit my 16x8 and 9 inch splits and roll the arches..................!? The shells so solid, it would be a shame to ruin it, but am I kidding myself that MK3's may actually be worth something one day??1 point

16" 8 and 9j rims and offset ?
DanChave reacted to redvr6_girl for a topic
Ok thank you I spent quite a while trying to google the answer using various sites before I posted in here , hence I got the info above about using the 20mm with et20 and et25 Tho I know some one with 17 Porsche et35 front and rear , no spacers just straight on So it's really confusing as one person telling me one thing another person something else and these sites another :/1 point -
Do you mind waiting for us whilst we're out on the blat? [emoji2]1 point

Haha, yeah I have my own busniess called Perfect Paint and Detailing (check out my page on FB) and I have been in the trade for about 10 years now The problem is, I very rarely get enough time to work on my own cars!1 point

What's the specs of these rims and what price are you looking at when you come to sell. I was trying to stay away from the norm like bbs style rims but I can't seem to be able to. They just suit the car to a tee lol1 point

If it's a consistent tapping noise, it's not the rods simple as. Big end shells will cause a definite knock/clack that not only gets faster with engine speed, gets considerably louder and nastier. Sorry king but I think we will have to professionally agree to disagree. As Pete says the 12v is a happy tappy engine, combination of general chain running noise, followers etc.1 point

home made vsr schrick manifold
Mk3highline reacted to science for a topic
Maybe worth bearing tin mind the 12v AAA and ABV manifolds have runner length compensation inside the manifold. 24v manifolds do not, but have compensation in the camshaft duration instead. Hence the plenum differences in variable inlet manifold design.1 point -

Little update. Got the rear beam off today. What a pig of a job!!! Bit of advice, remove ALL brake lines, clips, wires, anything holding the beam on. Didn't quite get everything split, just the small box that was on the beam, which I think it's the brake compensator?! Correct me if I'm wrong. Few pics.. Plan is to get the beam refurbished and powder coated, ready for my 256mm upgrade to go on. Hopefully soon:)1 point

I run 205/40 all round on 7.5j, and I'll run 205 on 8 & 8.5j. I don't get enough ground clearance with 195/40 it leaves my rims too vulnerable1 point -

Yeah I think buying the golf has made me realise that it's pretty much impossible to do anything original with a golf, so you're better off just doing what you like and if anyone else likes it, it's a bonus! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
