  1. Welcome to the first of this years "car of the month". This one goes to Richie Caldwell or richierich37 as he's known on the forum. I'm sure some of you would have already seen the build thread on Richies car, and if you have you'll be able to appreciate the time, effort, patience and not mention money he's ploughed into building a simplistic but truly one off mulberry highline! From the seats and interior, right down to the sump, no stone has been left unturned, and Richie himself admits one of his most favoured features is in fact the painted sump!! I told him he was wrong and it is actually

    Hi im new

Hello everyone , I have recently aquired the best car i have ever driven. It has cost me as the coil pack was faulty(£175) and needed all round springs and shocks(£350) the rear calipers were seized(£250) most of the cat was in the tail box(£185) the air bag light was on and the abs did not work(£?). But saying all that this little car puts the biggest smile (grin) on my face. The vr6 golf is just an awesome bit of kit. It is an old one 1996 vintage. I had to remove the tint from the front windows to drive it and adjust the suspension height as there are major speed humps where i live. I woul

Well rather than criticise and make infantile comments as your 1st post try contributing yourself it takes more than moderators to create a forum just because your observations are limited. You have the freedom to go to and be part of whatever forum you wish maybe this one is not the one your looking for the mkivs.net caters for a lot more cars than the VR6OC and therefore will have more posts and probably more members. Welcome to the club hopefully the search function may help you.

  7. hey guys, i drive a 94 golf vr6 recently my left rear window wen't down then never came back up again, i took the lining off the door (took long enough) and the motor is still working fine, but isn't pushing the window up for some reason, then today, the right rear window could't be controlled from the passenger button only from the console button i swapped the working left side button to the right side but it didn't work, the button on the console to cancel the rear windows from opening isn't working either, I have recently put a subwoofer in my car which was installed correctly with an amp

  19. Get the car done first dan and worry about the how much fuel after that. If you drive with the old men at the back of the convoy you'll get 400 miles out of a tank, drive with the younger ones at the front and you'll be rebuilding your engine again! Lmao

  20. I'm getting visions of a convoy or VR6's driving around the Hertfordshire/ Essex countryside for hours behind a certain mulberry coloured car looking for this pub! [emoji1] I'll make sure I've got plenty of petrol![emoji12]

You can always start a thread and ask for an answer just because nobody else has asked the question does not mean nobody knows the answer.

  29. Your gonna struggle with 9j up front I think, I've got 7.5j et33 and it's just on flush with arch. You simply haven't got the room to play with like you do at the back

  30. 215/40 would be my personal preference den. Still stretched but not excessively. Especially being auto, you'll be carrying a little extra kerbweight, make sure they're strong on the sidewall.

  31. Hi den, will you clear the caliper with 10mm spacers? With those fitted it will give et 20. You will need stretch tyres den. I know you've got tyres, 205/45/16? What is the speed and wall rating on them? 81v's, 87w's or what? Reason for asking is that you don't want too soft tyre wall if you're to stretch a 205 onto a 9" rim. I'm not a tyre expert, this info is just from my limited knowledge and personal preference regards to safety.

    1992 Mystic blue VR

Today I painted the callipers, decided to do them indoors as it was crazy cold in the garage. Turned out not bad. I then went about stripping the rear beam. Suffered from the classic rounded carrier bolts so got inventive with a grinder and screw driver.. Done a trial buff to see how well the wire cup I bought was going to work. Turned out alright. Will probably end up shot blasting all the nueks and crannies but we shall see. Also had to butcher the brake compensator as the bolts were seized.. Also bought these a while back from the US. Major pain to find!! That's it for now!

  36. On a serious note...... All jokes aside for a minute here is the updated list of who will be rolling and who will be spectating on the day. As Pete confirmed the date will be Sunday 1st March and it all kicks off at 9am. You guys who have arranged a meet and are traveling down together do drive carefully. We want you there in one piece. A reminder, if you are rolling and your car is lowered it is advised to raise them before rolling otherwise you'll not get on the rollers. Anyway the list is as follows.......... Rolling.
