  2. Welcome to the first of this years "car of the month". This one goes to Richie Caldwell or richierich37 as he's known on the forum. I'm sure some of you would have already seen the build thread on Richies car, and if you have you'll be able to appreciate the time, effort, patience and not mention money he's ploughed into building a simplistic but truly one off mulberry highline! From the seats and interior, right down to the sump, no stone has been left unturned, and Richie himself admits one of his most favoured features is in fact the painted sump!! I told him he was wrong and it is actually

@jd's thanks for the advice man, but why not try r32oc for more specific answers to your questions which only you know. Why not try asking a question for us to answer? We may just know it. There are many wise (and old) r32 owners on here. Most of them already know everything they need to so hence why the little amount of questions on thus section. We have 12,000 regular visitors on this site and if you don't ask, you don't get. That is not a constructive post. That doesn't give us advice on what to help you with or how we can be of service. Frankly it's just rude. Please be more constructiv

  13. Hello again all ! Sorry for the delay in replying...., been very busy with work, chassis building, writing off my nice shiny 2010 3.0T A6..., buying an even nicer shiny 2010 S6..., sorting out a few issues with that, house buying etc etc !! However !, the chassis is coming together very well..., the front and rear sub assemblies from a 2008 S5 are attached, I had the propshaft in the lathe the other day and that is mocked up, the boost pipwwork parts and exhaust are all on the way to completion. The inlet and exhaust manifolds, turbo, gearbox adapter plate from a Passat 2.3V5 (same bell housin

Or simply join the R32oc which is also a very informative and friendly forum!! You never know, they may show more interest in an r32 but don't count on it, chances are your best place to try would be the jeep Cherokee owners club

    Engine Cleaning

Right little update. Took the block and head to my local engine machinist. To pressure test, clean and hone the block it's going to cost £100 To pressure test, clean and skim if needed the head it will cost £115 So 215 notes in total. I don't think that's too sad to be honest Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

if you want to go DIY get in there an scrub to be honest mate, foam degreaser or thinners and a scouring pad 1st. get all the grim and muck off, then give it a good jet wash. this will remove minimal rust aswell. dry block thoroughly inside and out. Depending if you wish to remove all rust, I would use a flap wheel on a drill, get a few different sizes as it make it easier to get all areas. then once it all removed give the whole out side block a sand by hand. with about 320 grit. apply some kind of chemical rust treatment / prevention for bare metal. Paint with high temperature paint. light
