Hi guys! Thought I'd get a build thread up to track the progress of my VR project! My latest purchase, more as a project is a 1992 OBD1 in mystic blue, with 192k on the shell and '90k' on the engine, but no proof of this! Plan in stripping the engine and rebuilding it when funds allow it anyways so mileage doesn't bother me:) [spec wise for the car it's fairly standard, sitting on some carrado speed lines and some AP coilovers. The interior has been re trimmed in leather and blue suede centres. Since getting to the car I've done a few things, mainly interior. Changed out the blue/purple door

Evening you VR nuts... I fitted a jetex decat on my car last week with no issues. Fired her up and she was spot on. No leaks. Took her for a run. All was good. A nice note coming from the exhaust. This weeks a different matter though. On start-up she is misfiring her tits off. Sounds like she's running on three. After a short while it clears and she's ok. Had it on vag-com and shows no faults or issues. I'm wondering if the lambada sensor cant take it on start up?? If I add a Lambada spacer do any of you guys think this will cure it?

Coil packs were all new when I got it. Magnacor leads new aswell. Nothing comes up when plugged in. Kept in heated garage at work. Only happened since I changed to decat. My pal said to use a lambada spacer as the sensor is to far in the decat hence all the fumes on start up. I've ordered one anyway. Let's hope it does the trick.

Lambda don't work/used till engine come up to temp? Scrap car and start again

Standard FWD rear suspension is completely different to that of the 4motion, the springs pictured above will not fit a FWD Golf

Hopefully back to work on the car this weekend. My oil cooler extension tube arrived today from United Motorsport. Sump is back on now so just need to change the oil filter then get her filled up with oil again. The rest of the weekend will consist of getting the front end back on, coolant filled up, WOTBOX wired up and fit a bit more of the meth kit.

So a friend recommended this paint called Selemix. And I'm going to use it over getting stuff powder coated. As I can then do everything my self. There quite a few different types of selemix, so I did abit of research before deciding which to go for. Selemix is used for paint oil rigs, JCBs, tractors, lots of agricultural vehicles, cranes, containers, etc. So I set about building a spray booth in my garage, only a smallish one for doing parts.
