Back from the dead........

Some of you will know me from on here and VR60c meets years ago, some of you won't (think my original VR6oc Number was 007!) Had a lot of people ask and PM me where this cars been of late, so thought I'd add this in here. After being off the road for 5 years due to a nut coming loose from the Shrick divertor valve and going through the engine, totally destroying my low mileage mint engine I lost interest in the money pit and had other projects on the go, so the car sat in the garage for 5 years generally being in the way! So after a full Low Comp engine rebuild, Stage 2 Vortech, (The Z-Enginee4 points -

Thanks mate, its a complete down to the last nut and bolt top and bottom end built up Low Comp. engine so I'm currently still running it in, before the bigger 630 Siemens injectors and final mapping, so no idea on full potential yet. Looking forward to seeing what Vince at Stealth can get out of it though as its now a Vortech Stage 2 charger set up. Was running 288bhp on the Z-Engineering charger and standard engine before. Cheers Pete, feel like a right Newbie! Running it in is so painful, tempted to just hire a rolling road for a couple of hours, lol. Wheels are RH ZW1's originally3 points -

Hi, just come back to the VR6 Corrado after 9 years without ( child number three scuppered it!). luckily just got hold of a mint Storm, 122k on the clock and am well pleased ( wife told me to buy whatever I want as long as she got my old car- result!) The last car was the only one I've ever had for more than two years- had it for 9, and will hopefully have this one long into retirement, and thats still 20 years away! based in Scunthorpe, so if anyone knows any good service agents/ dealers for goodies locally, let me know, cheers Ray1 point

I think if it were me I'd be looking for some bigger adapters fella. I wouldn't like to run adapters and spacers!1 point -
I'm glad Mistline explained that! It was on the tip of my tongue though! [emoji38]1 point

Hi, I had a similar issue with my Golf. I have OBD1 with coil pack and got my hands on a corrado inlet manifold and throttle body. Ok, so long story short when i changed the TB I had the same issues as you seem to be having. As soon as I swapped back to the old TB it ran sweet again. I've just recently put the corrado TB back on, but I've also had it remapped at Stealth. It runs sweetly now and makes a hell of an induction roar Try a Golf one and see if it solves it, then go from there. Perhaps all it needs is a remap. I heard remarks when mine was being done like "oh my god the fuellin1 point

So, picked up a few more bits for this, including replica ABT side skirts, stainless steel Dubpower exhaust manifold (to go with my already fitted Miltek decat and 2.5 inch Jetex exhaust system) and a pair of Hella Black rear lights STILL waiting on my new bumpers etc though also, I'm picking up a Mulberry Highline to break tomorrow, which should sort me out with the last few bits I need for the project!1 point

Well.. I forgot to fim it. But i can only say it was insane loud. The turbo tech was into Swedish cars, and BMWs, but when i told him the 35R was fitted to a VR6 he smiled and said those engines are brilliant. There is no bearing service to be done to the Garrett ballbearing turbo's he said. Need to buy a new chra. But after 5 years, mine was fine.1 point
