  1. I always break the price down, £200 for 4 shocks and springs and the maker and the seller are making a profit, so really your putting £25 worth of suspension on each corner. I don't know if that's a good way to think, but its how my mind works with cheap stuff.

  3. I got a whole kit with a few of parts missing, I have been down the forced induction route before, and I have to inspect and repair everything, otherwise the weakest link will show. Been stripping the oil system at work cleaning the inline filter, and making some spacers up. The idler and supercharger pulleys are not aligned with the aux belt. and the ones someone had made that came with the kit are far from ideal. The injectors are all tested and cleaned, and within 2% of each other, very happy with them.

  4. Front crossmember all finished in polyurethane coat. Stupidly I didn't get a photo zoomed out of all of it. Pushed the polybushes in what a pain in the ass they are to do! used 2 big G-claps and various pieces of wood. and micro fiber cloths to stop marks on the paint. Got it all fitted on to the car. not the best pic in world, put a few braided lines on my power steering. More new old stock. Audi 80 Vdo dials i'm going to link up, unsure where I'm mounting them atm. I've also ordered a matching Vdo boost gauge I had to order from Germany. I'm thinking of mounting two maybe where the sp

Whilst taking apart the schrick mani today to check if it had a plastic flap as advised by Vince at Stealth (apparently they have a habit of falling apart when supercharged, mine is metal[emoji3]) I thought that I needed to do something with it and I'm not a big fan of polishing so I did this; All put back together with stainless Allen bolts, what do you think?

  7. So a bit of history to start with. I bought a 1997 Mk3 Golf GTi 16V back in August 2004. Over the years of owning the car it slowly developed in to more of a fun / track car. The final evolution for that bodyshell was on the road late 2008. I had done a few track days in the car by this stage and when the tax ran out the end of October, I garaged the car for a winter rebuild. This was to include fitting a full cage (it ran with only the rear section at that stage) and the fibreglass panels Mike and I had commissioned. I also had a rebuilt gearbox (3.6 FD & Quaife LSD) a

  9. Djiceman has eibach front and rear arb's and he says the car is now super stiff and I think he also said his car now understeers quite a bit in the wet but good in the dry.

I would want to know if the chains have been done. The VR runs from a chain rather than a belt and whilst it's very rare the chain breaks, the tensioner that keeps it tight "Can" wear. This leads to the chain becoming slightly slack and a little rattely, but even worse the tensioner can break, or bits of it come off it and go into the engine which is obviously a bad thing Cars after 1997 tend not to have this issue as much as I believe the tensioner was changed slightly. Other than that the engines are pretty bullet proof to be honest. You might have the odd coilpack issue or crank positi

  16. Thankfully the only thing on the list I have to buy now is the oil cooler and that will happen once I have sussed out how big a one I can fit in. I have been stock piling parts for years as you do and thought it was about time they saw some use! The engine made 226bhp the last time it was on a dyno, but dynos are normally a bit of a lottery. It feels quite strong, that is good enough for me.

Ben is meticulous hence I'd like him to do the bodywork at least. I'll probably get the establishment he works at to do some spanner work on it too. I look forward to seeing the nothelle back to its former glory and I think many of us will. It's a bit of a unicorn car that one

  18. More parts have arrived - Porsche Boxster S Brembos and I have Ferodo Racing DS3000 pads to start with: I also helped get all the parts sorted out and on to the racking, then the VR6 lifted on to the new engine stand: That is us up to date.

  19. I wanted to get the cage main hoop set back as far as possible as I have an extended steering column to go on further down the line. We have spent a fair bit of time mocking up the position of the cage feet towers. That has all been set now and my father picked up some suitable plate, so fabrication should be starting shortly. Also, some parts have arrived. CAE Ultra Shifter Neuspeed adjustable rear ARB kit, I will be running this with the Eibach front ARB which was previously fitted. Avo monotube coilover kit with Ground Control camber/castor adjustable top mounts I

  20. So then I shipped the car out to my parents to start the tear down. Engine out, front & rear subframes off, tank dropped and then the 4 wheel frames fitted so we can move the shell about. All suspension off, doors and tailgate as well to make things easier for working on the caqe install. Rear seat support removed: Then I started to strip out the dash. I got this done and then started to remove the airbag controller and associated wiring, then I went on to the stereo wiring. Dad started removed the sound deadening material on the roof, so he can get the paint t

Catch cans are effectively a means of venting to atmosphere, depending how they're piped up. It just means the oil spit that passes through the breathers is collected instead of making a mess anywhere. Just need to empty them out on service. Some people run a pipe from the rocker cover to a catch tank, then just stick one of those little mini k&n filters on the outlet, others run the outlet back to the inlet tract. The theory being, that the oil is collected in the tank, and only vapor is passed back to the throttle body. Venting to atmosphere does ensure the inlet tract stays dry and oil

May be worth giving him a ring, he's really helpful and got a lot connection's and places he gets parts from. I'm sure if there were wings anywhere for a corrado he'd have a good chance of getting hold of em!
