  1. I like their style! During the call they were interested in getting the car running as apposed to talking Monopoly money rebuilds! I was quoted £8k for nuclear blast proof rebuild by George Martin racing. Wtf? I look forward to finding what's up with the nothelle!

  2. Got a few more bits done this week, not as much as I would have liked as works been busy and I've been waiting on bits including the longer belt for the charger that's coming from America and is silly expensive! [emoji22] Popped into the local pirtek to get a new fittting for the oil return into the sump and ended up with a complete new oil return; a Changed the plugs and leads while it was all apart and 3 or 4 of the plugs weren't much more than finger tight which may explain it being a bit down on power at the rolling road day? Then got the schrick back on there; And realised how much of a

  5. Take off the rocker cover and hold the cam steady with a set of adjustables or right size spanner where it's hex'ed on the actuall cam shaft. The bolt is a normal thread, lefty loosey righty tightey. It will be tight and awkward to get by yourself as 1 one hand will be pushing the other will be pulling! Not sure what the metal bit in the dizzy hole is, never seen it before. It's not of the brown bit on the bottom of the dizzy is it? The pronged bit that's bolted to cam sprocket that the dizzy locates into is notched and only fits into the sprocket 1 way. Edited with a picture of the possible m

    which lambda sensors

thanks, i'm getting cheesed off clearing the codes on a daily basis..... serves me right though for using supermarket fuel I suppose! I've decided to run shell nitro+ and it is now running a lot nicer & more economical too. anybody got any experience of this? http://www.terraclean.co.uk/ if it does what it says then it should clear 120k worth of cack out of the car so will hopefully run cleaner.

    What Is This For?

Catch cans are effectively a means of venting to atmosphere, depending how they're piped up. It just means the oil spit that passes through the breathers is collected instead of making a mess anywhere. Just need to empty them out on service. Some people run a pipe from the rocker cover to a catch tank, then just stick one of those little mini k&n filters on the outlet, others run the outlet back to the inlet tract. The theory being, that the oil is collected in the tank, and only vapor is passed back to the throttle body. Venting to atmosphere does ensure the inlet tract stays dry and oil

    What Is This For?

Pcv valve can be removed but it's advised to run your breather pipe to a catch can, or straight out to atmosphere with a piece of long pipe down to the chassis rail. That mesh in the pcv valve is intended as a flame trap to stop any unwanted hot oil firing in the inlet tract. Personally I don't really think such a problem is too likely but that's what it's for. It also does a good job of stopping too much oil splatter into the inlet. Mines long gone and at present I've got a piece of samco carrying the crankcase fumes down to the road but a catch tank or fresh clean pcv is by far the better
