Thanks for offer mate much appreciated the car is now booked in with a local bodyshop. They are located literally round the corner they do good work because we use them often for customers and I am getting good deal as it will be worked on as and when they can. So all going well will report back in couple of weeks with a finished car.4 points

Make sure to sand the mounting surfaces on the alternator, and alternator bracket back to bare metal. Otherwise you might get a few grounding issues dude.1 point -

As the title states I really need a good condition 3door door seal (rubber/foam one that goes all the way round the opening) Thanks adam1 point -
the guy who messed mine actually does it for a living he is a smart repairer. The deal was he needed his works van fixing and his daily driver so I sorted them both and he would sort my bodywork out but once I fixed his he started making excuses. Shouldn't have let him do it really as I could see he couldn't be arsed.1 point

Seriously winds me up when people claim to be painters that haven't got a clue, it's really not that hard to get it right, even if you only know the basics!1 point

We were hitting 145mph between camp and quarry, bloody quick is the word your looking for. It and us are out at Bedford on Saturday 2nd May for How Fast, there is one or two places left if anybody fancies coming along and seeing How Fast your car is?1 point -
I bought samco hoses and they only lasted a few years, the larger diameter hoses to the rad split internally as did a couple of the smaller ends going to aux pump, I wrote to samco and included photos etc as it looked like a manufacturing fault.. But they didn't really care and just came back with me needed original sales invoice etc, which i didn't have anymore. So i replaced with Roose motorsport hoses which looked much better to me.1 point

Hi Mate, had the same with mine after a gearbox swap. see here http://www.myturbodiesel.com/wiki/how-to-adjust-your-vw-and-audi-manual-shifter-cables/ i would suggest its a 2 person job, 1 to adjust and 1 to check the gears as otherwise your will be jumping in and out of the car as even a mm makes a big difference, hopefully its just a loose bolt and you should be able to see where it was sat originally. good luck s1 point
