  3. Was the new ignition switch definitely a goodun? My VR6 would not crank over when you turnt the key to start, however, when you turn the key just to on all the ignition lights would turn on, pointing to a fault with the ignition switch. To over come this I unplugged the plug that goes straight into the back of the ignition switch, stripped a small part of the thick red wire and also the thinner red wire with a black line on it, attached two wires so that they are accessible, put the plug back into the ignition switch, turn the key to on, touch the two wires together and it started first time.

    Mk4 calipers

Yeah you need to change the rear pipes and there available from eBay £35 ish But the problem I had was that the normal size for the banjo bolt is m10 but the calipers I got off a mk4 had the m12 fitting So get the calipers first to see the size of the banjo bolts

  10. yeah from memory the last time i replaced mine it was around the £30 mark from VW but would be worth a call. The stainless steel versions look like a great modification, as soon as the one on my vr6 goes i will be replacing it with one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-12V-VR6-2-8-2-9-stainless-steel-crack-pipe-water-pipe-for-mk3-Golf-Corrado-/151686953569?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item23513f3a61 There is a company that also sells cast alloy thermostat housings but i honestly wouldn't bother as they are ridiculously priced at around £150, you can get an OEM VW thermostat housing whi

  12. Not sure my MK4 would be a suitable candidate for the stand, as it has never seen a polishing cloth, has no interior but it does have a turbo and is a worthy track slag with a hole in the bumper for cool air! Let me know as I know I am off work. Be warned it will be trailered to Tatton Park and a BMW will be pulling the trailer. (It doesn't get any worse)

    Mk2 g60 to vr6t build

Bit of a late update but I have taken the plunge and I'm going to be fitting a complete haldex conversion into the car. I have bought the complete running gear out of an Audi s3 and will hopefully be collecting a shortened haldex rear cradle which is fully polybushed and the correct width for a mk2 Also sprayed the bay in a coat of high build primer ready to work on it again on Wednesday.
