  2. Hi Guys Just thought i"d share a few photos of my ride Its a 1997 Golf VR6 in Tornado Red fitted with a factory sunroof. The car is fitted with a Maxtrac Adjustable Coilover Suspension , Simota Induction and the gearbox has been some what changed a bit, i'm using the ABF16V gears on the VR6 internals, which gives a me a bit better ratios. The car is soon to be fitted with a Dictator 60-2 Fuel Management System Further more i prefer to keep her original and preserve the beauty of a VR6..

    VR6 turbo help

I can get the garage next to my work place to check knock count. Will give that a go if the second bottle of injector cleaner doesn't do the trick.

    running too hot

Pressure test done no leaks at 1bar, fans kick in and belt is good, when driving the temp stays down around 90, only goes above to around 95 when crawling slowish in traffic but fans pull it back to under 90. Oil is sitting around 96-98 , it's an auto so may be why it runs hotter but don't know if these temps are normal.

    VR6 turbo help

I've not got AFR fitted. A couple of days a go a mate told me to try some injector cleaner I've put some in and that has made a slight difference. It's not doing it as bad as it was so I'm going to try another bottle with my next tank of fuel and see what happens.

  9. Fair enough mate The MSD coils are huge though! Yes they weren't as reliable as the stock coils. 2 failed on me. Gave up on importing them after that and I noticed no difference what so ever using them either. People use them because they can run a bigger spark, but it makes no difference. Stock coils with suitable plugs gapped properly is all you need. Just like you burn a house down with a match, if the air/fuel ratio is correct, you only need a small spark to ignite it The Bosch coilpack worked well for me over 60K miles with a turbo. It doesn't crack like the original VR6 on

  10. I think there 8mm's pal. I think that was the reason my mate just bought the kit and used his 10mm Magnacors. His looks cool because he's had the coils power coated blue and uses blue magnacors with grey msd ends. [emoji106]

    New VR6 new hope!

New seats and harness came today, it's so tempting to fit them but I better wait for my cage to come first[emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]

Maybe the rad not as efficient as it was, you could run the garden hose to try and flush it a bit.

  15. Thanks Pete I would love to see her on the stand at a show too And thankyou Ingham , she's obd1 so a new Tesla coil was only £20 , and she's had two fresh monroes out back £45 ( eventually get a sports pack when I find one for the right price) Got her warmed up Friday night , oil filter out , then a full drop (going to run her for a few miles then repeat but get the sump off too) Welded up the drivers seat (cracked sub frame) , fitted a fresh dizzy , undid and untwisted one of the rear belts as it was at full extension , checked all the bulbs and dropped her for the MOT. She passed wi
