Say hello to my new girl... A tale of love , pain , tears , sadness & joy all rolled into one (car). It began Thursday 13th of August , sat at work winding down to close , somthing just made me click on Gumtree to see if their were any local VR's (or even GTI's) for a dash , interior & any other good bits. There it was , right at the top of the page a 3 dr black highline , nearest ... As any Northern VR6 owner knows , we don't get a lot of them for sale up this neck of the woods. So a quick email was fired off & one was received just as fast Hi, it is possible that so3 points

And moving up swiftly to stage 2! Boost! Picked up a Vortech V1 cheap as chips with dual idler setup. Was missing a few bits from the kit such as idler pulley spacers, longer alternator bolts and charger mount spacer. I have knowledge, helpful friends and contacts so no problem! A friend in the USA provided the info I need and a helpful member with a lathe in the UK made up alternator spacers (result)! I removed the case from the charger which is currently down at the polishers getting polished, can't wait see it ! Just need to nip to the thread shop pick up 115mm alternator bolts and that'3 points

Soooo then guys. Been a while since my last update. Engine is now run in ( yay ) and feels really strong on the road. Passed MOT last month without issue and was planning take on holiday to Cornwall. After giving it a once over, I noticed the water pump bearing had gone (great!) so replaced that and I thought we were good to go! Or so I thought! Set off at 4am and drove 100 yards before it broke down. Lovely! Clifford alarm decided to immobilise the car which was great! Couldn't get it going properly and managed to limp it back home and pack my other car. 2 weeks later I got back home a3 points

V6 4motion turbo build thread

Managed to get a little bit more done today, first thing was to make up my wastage dump/screamer pipe, I also added a little stainless tab at the bottom that bolts to one of the sump bolts. This should take some stress out of the system but since the tab is thin it should't create a bind if something wants to move around or expand with heat. It vents straight down by the drivers side wheel, should be pretty loud With that finished, I then could put on the intake manifold since that would have majorly restricted my access to the wastage. ] Then I attached all of the electrical connectors2 points -

Quite proud of this old girl after running faultlessly to Leeds and back to VW festival, there can't be many cars that can do nearly 175,000miles then can take someone bolting a supercharger to the engine! [emoji41] Now to get it booked into Stealth for a proper mapping session, can't wait! http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/17/0cf754e65840e703722b56d044527b70.jpg[/img2 points

Using Bosch blue 470cc injectors that I got from bar tek,the original ones are currently fitted as have to keep these in along with the original maf and drive it off boost until I get it down to stealth to be mapped In tank pump wasn't too bad a job I followed the guide on here and looked at what others had done on there builds, I ended up using chemical metal to hold the new pump in the old ones place as it's slightly smaller, its not quite sat as low as I would like but will see how it goes, I think that if you buy the kit from stealth it comes with a spacer to help it sit lower I unfortuna1 point

There was quite a few other issues, it needs a windscreen, and the front wings are rotten amongst others, wouldn't have been worth paying someone to do it but as I'm in the trade it didn't matter to much, got a few more bits done this week including the new private plate I bought for it, was the first private plate I've ever bought and I was surprised at how easy it was to buy and get on the car! Then the headlamp covers I ordered turned up,gave up looking for original hella smoked ones and got these for £28 delivered, not genuine but fit really well, though if anyone on here has got a good ne1 point
