  1. Hi mate, you need to lower the compression with a spacer plate. 8:5:1 is what most people say you should run. You can run higher compression as I know people who have had 15+ psi on a 9:5:1. It al depends if your willing to take the risk

    New VR6 new hope!

Best way mate, do all the work your self. I thaugh my self to weld quite afew years ago. It's not to hard buddy, practice first. Practices loads. Once you think your good, Try welding two Stanley blades together. It's all about keeping the seam constant. Once you got that down and can weld thin blades together you should be quite decent at welding.

    Turbo Build

Read my build thread here http://www.vr6oc.com/forum/topic/46794-v6-4motion-turbo-build-thread/ Granted it's a 24v engine but most of the ideas and fabrication is the same between all vr6 engines. I'm using a Garrett GT3582R ball bearing turbo with a .82 AR exhaust housing. In a high gear I can get full boost right around 3k rpm and doesn't run out of puff at high rpm.

    New VR6 new hope!

Sick of let downs so I bought myself a welding kit [emoji23] this could be fun, going to have enough equipment to open a garage at the rate this is going!

    OBD1 Remapping

Hi, i drove from down south to him. no more than half a day on the rollers so if you set out early only a day. i would say make sure that the car is in tip-top condition before you go, its a long way to go to find out when you get there that there is an issue. i would do a service first, plugs leads oil and filters etc. in my experience the VR is sluggish lowdown, mine only felt nice to drive after cams, schrick etc.. i was expecting more from a 2.8 V6 and at the last RR day at stealth that i went to a pissy fiesta st pulled more than a lot of cars +200hp and tq! good luck s

    OBD1 Remapping

hi mate, you cant map either ODB1 or 2 via that port and i believe the 1 doesnt even have one? the chip needs to be pulled and reflashed. vince at stealth (http://stealthracing.co.uk/) is recommended but you will need to visit after each major mod £250-300 a pop! otherwise go standalone £500-1200 (megasquirt - lugtronic PNP) good luck steve mine didnt pull well either until those rpm's so afaik thats usual (until i schricked it, 210llb\ft @ 4k!)
