    Hey all!

My name is Matt and I am a recent follower to the VR6 Owners club FB page and a recent member of the website. I am also the manager of my own blog and now the blogger for this website. I talked things over with one of the mods here and we decided that I got the part for it and I am really excited to start that! Hopefully you all check it out and enjoy it. I look forward to talking with some of you through here!

    vr6 caddy build

Ok so I went with the wide track mostly cause I had all the bits I I like the wide track, which was a good thing because it meant I had the 288 up front fitted some cheap coilovers upfront till I can save for some proper ones. so after that I started to bolt up the front end and started looking like a van again. it's abit tight to the front panel but there's loads of room at the back which is nice to no as I plan to turbo at a later date for now i got this 6 branch and made the side exit. also got told the standard van front mount wasn't upto the job so got a poly flex one woks great so after

  5. So ive got a mk2 vr6 and its developed a slight clatter like chains. Engine is from an obd1 car on a 94 reg so i believe its the twin chain. Ive seen a good thread on vortex which involves pulling the engine and changing the clutch, id ultimately like to do this but i dont really have the space at the mo for such an involved job. Or the money! Can i change the upper guides/tensioner? Just as an inbetweener? How strong are the chains? Has anyone done it? Thanks in advance.

  9. Also another way to cool the air, to stop pre-detonation, and higher intake temps.... Is water and methanol injection. This is one of the only ways to cool the air without any boost or flow loss. But this is not always idea for road, or daily driven cars, as it can never run out. So you have to top up petrol, and water and methanol all the time. This is why it's mainly used on track, drag or weekend cars.

  12. You should see best part of 300hp with the C30-94 if not more with 263 cams and other performance mods . Most people use Bosch Green tops 440cc but once again it's up to you. With regards to the charge cooler, I'd always recommend one as it will give you more consistent dyno figures as when the cars 'cooler' it will make more power in essence as it gets hotter the HP will subsequently drop. A PWR barrell charge cooler will fit. If your going down the intercooler route you will need to take into consideration if the extra pipework and the size of the I/C the Charge will have to fill hence the p

  13. 25mm silicone will be fine, So will 25mm vacuum hose, as it only under boost for a coupe of seconds while the valve opens. Most of the time it's not under much pressure or boost at all. You can also get special parts to add in to your air intake system if wanted, to stop hydro lock. It's an extra intake point, that can open if the air filter gets wet and hydro locks. The bolts should work fine, I need 100mm ones for my set up, and bought high tensile Allen key, same as I sent you.

I will be keeping it this time! And do plan on coming to shows! At the moment I need to get a few bushes done so I plan on poly bushing it. Current mods are: lowerd on spring at the rear and coilovers at the front, it has pink samco hoses (not my choice they were already on it), its had the interior swaped for the mulberry, wheels spacers on the rear and miltek cat back exhaust. Future mods: Poly bushes, coilovers all round, maybe a decat, maybe change the wheels but not sure what too and just lots of bodywork! So it looks tidy

  16. If you happy to have Allen key heads http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=360675642473&globalID=EBAY-GB Buy 120mm and chop off 5mm, or let 5mm hang out of end. Or high tensile, again 120mm, chop 5mm off. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=360850401876&globalID=EBAY-GB 25mm vacuum hose should work for the recirc valve. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=190884940904&globalID=EBAY-GB

  25. It's Not a lot just a thin layer to smooth it out after the rust was taken off and that , Yes I thought about that but not sure I want camber , as round here it's not very practical and I'm on 40 profile tires with stretch ? And she's my daily :/ Obviously in an ideal world of smooth roads , no potholes and no sleeping policeman speed bumps , id have camber all day everyday (one day ... One day ... Maybe When I get her looking so fit she becomes a show car ... [emoji23][emoji23] (One day)) Quite possibly I'm still going to look just in case there's some fail videos [emoji16][emoji16]

Was out last night in the golf to go to the shops, I wake up this morning and there is a oil leak coming from the gear box picture below, should this have a seal in it and how can I fix it? I know I cant take the panel off because if I do obviously the oil will come out, thanks in advance for the help.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GEARBOX-SUMP-GASKET-VW-Golf-Hatchback-VR6-MK-3-1992-1998-2-8L-174-BHP-Top-Ge-/201101210260 This is a gear box sump gasket ^ do you mean you can see a bit of gasket making it look like a gap ? You need to check it's definatley from the gear box and not oil running onto it from else where then dripping onto the gear box. Gear box oil will smell a lot stronger than engine oil. Give it a good clean off and degrease to locate the sounce of the leak. Good luck.
