Dave_ciw I had just found your Facebook page and was talking to one of the moderators of the site! I just hadn't had the chance until recently to be able to make the account! I found your FB page/website through a suggested page on Facebook and joined from there. A couple of my buddies are part of it and told me to join!2 points

Hi all, Iv been a member for a while but have never really posted anything, so thought I would introduce myself and my car. Im Jake and I drive a 1989 tornado red mk2 golf vr6. Iv owned the car for 2 years now and absolutely love it, but as the new year is coming, so are a few changes, so all of your advice and opinions would be much appreciated. The cars heart is a 2.8 vr6, standard engine with stainless exhaust, engine bay is in need of some attention as it is untidy, so the plans for the new year is to take the engine out and get the bay painted as well as cleaning and touching up1 point

Sorry for the lack of posts recently, been a busy year so far. Since I last post I have been busy on the golf, still nothing done noting about looking into the shallow sump yet, but I have now got myself a quad grill, upgraded the rear calipers to mk4 golf spec and just general tarting and tidying up, but the best thing has to be is when I collected these from been trimmed Unfortunately, recently I have been consider parting with the golf due to funding a house. As much as I do not want to it may soon be time to say bye to the old girl1 point

Here's a bit of information for you. If using the Victor Reinz head gasket please go for the 1.6mm Space plate. If you purchase a 3mm plate as I have that gasket may be a little thick. You will need to order the 021 103 383 N. Drill the rivets out and replace the centre section with your spacer! Will keep you posted1 point

The seller will get back to me. I am handy with a few tools but not a mechanic by any means, so if it's a service I can change plugs, leads and filters. Anything else is down to the mechanic. There were a few other bits that required attention, exhaust, door locks, brakes, sunroof, etc. there's someone else going to look at it today, so he may be less put off than me. But I'll keep looking!1 point
