    Porn!

No not that kind you filthy animals! Although being sixers we certainly know the ladies love a bit of extra size don't we? Well, at least that's what we tell the 1.8T owners eh? Anyway, enough jest, just got these pics and details through the vine from a supplier so thought I would share: Supercharged Lambo anyone? Macca!

  2. Best way mate 12 years ago before I started my business and had these places, I never held a spanner in my life. I bought my first VR it had 250K Miles on the clock. The head gasket went.... Phoned VW specialist and they quoted £800 to do the job parts and materials to do it! I paid £400 for the car hahaha. Mrs was not impressed and at the time we couldn't afford that kind of expense. So I turned to this forum as a paid member and downloaded the PDF workshop manual for the engine. Studied it and guides of people doing chains on here. Popped the car in the garage and attempted that shit

  5. So far I have spent around 5000 on the car including buying the car, equipment for jobs and tools, and the donor engine. I have been pricing a forged bottom end and replacing everything with schimmel parts but the reality is I have 2 holidays booked and a stag do and a wedding so I am no making tough choices [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] think I will take a leaf out of your book and recondition this engine to a good standard then I know the engine is spot on and save the forged schimmel engine for next winter project when I have less going on.

    Scene tax

I hate scene tax. 312mm carriers on eBay are stupidly over priced. I can get them for half the price from a known breakers who make a fortune. It's getting stupid now. Rant over lol

  7. Also they a statement has been released there is no Booze Vendor on the day and none will be allowed on site. It is a working airport and they have their own security that will be confiscating all booze and any other narcotics! So our seasoned stoners and pissheads will have to take a day off

  11. A mate of mine got a factory mk3 2.9 car years ago, last of the line model, I was adamant that it had had a conversion by a previous owner but the log book and history etc all looked legit. He ended up getting in touch with VW to find out and apparently it was only one of a few, was due to stock levels or phasing out the engine or something.

    Vortech V1 questions

if you want or need it to be a closed loop system then you'll need to have a port welded to the intake pipe. the purpose of the catch can is to eliminate the PCV system so it would counterintuitive to install the catch can but have the vapors recirculated to the intake. personally I would just leave the intake pipe as-is and install a catch can that does not recirculate the vapors

  13. Errmm, havent had much free time lately but getting back on it now. Loom is going off to be done soon so that will be a major step forward. Got a Sachs clutch on now & just ordered some of the most expensive bolts in the world from VW to mate the box back onto block. Changed crack pipe and thermostat in the last 2 months, real progress. Cheers.

Next on the list : 312mm brake upgrade Sort heater box out (means taking the dash out) Sort the thermostat housing out with new seals. Change rims for some cheap steelies or something for winter.

  15. As back in the thread I did the wedding thing a few years back hahaha! Expensive hobby that my next one will certainly be cheaper!!! I ave a registered scrap yard in my back garden, another in Wales and a garage in Wales my tools are pretty much covered. I have started turbo builds before and proved I can't be without the car. This way I can get a bit extra poke and get my car back quick. Then I can build a monster in my own time when finances allow. Wife and 3 daughters are with out a doubt my most expensive items . The only downside is I will have to buy all the ARP bolts twice. Howe

    New engine parts ?

So apart from them being cheaper option can you say the build quality was ok ?

  17. I am running standard rods and Pistons. Building for 350-400 this time. When my engine that's in the car is out I will start another build but that will be a long winded expensive number hahaha
